Purple Link is gone here for in-story reasons due to the lack of the Four Sword. Remember that he came about due to the FS dividing Link, while on TFH they are different heroes unrelated to Link (except for the player character, which is ALBW!Link in disguise)
No FS, no Purple Link.

I find it odd that Nintendo decided to make a three-player game. I mean, can you name any other games that have a three player maximum? Well, at least it's unique. However, I am somewhat saddened by the loss of the "fabulous" purple link of old. Why did they not just get rid of green?
