Sounds cute. That suits their looks of course but many cute looking things aren't cute at all. (Koalas for example)
"masters"? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...That's pretty much the gest of the anime
Hamtaro and friends sneaking off to play, go on adventures and get back home just in time before their masters get back. I wish cartoons these days still had that sweet innocence to them like they used to.
... You might need to explain that a bit. What you are saying is that humans are just like all the other animals but with the lucky addition of hands, right? (I mean some species of birds for example are crazy intelligent, they just lack hands to create tools with.)Oh, i forget some humans are full of them selves in that matter, Guys humans aren't special at all, Squirrels can climb anything and chew through the same, cats can scratch and jump high, and humans can think and hold objects, humans are no special at all, every being of this world have their abilities, so don't think you can be their master, in fact you should think better "am i their master? or their slavr?
not quite, i meant that humands are no better than any Animal in this world, they just think they are, Kupo, however they don't pick their allies quite well, you can find more often than you think a Beaver and a Raccoon helping each other out (to catch a fish for example), humans fight themselves a whole lot more than any Animal, and for meaningless reasons too...... oops got a little carried away in there, Kupo... the thing is that humans can gun down any Animals, even other humans.... Oops did it again heheh, the thing is, instead of see your domesic Animals as Pets, you should see then as Freinds, Kupo!... You might need to explain that a bit. It is an important ability but it certainly isn't unique. Think about crows, dolphins, apes or elephants; they all live in groups in which they help each other and they all are intelligent. But helping each other is nothing unique at all, it's just social group behaviour. Sheep, cows, even mice help each other. And a lot of those animals kill members of other groups or might even deliberately hurt members of their own group. This is because in the end even social behaviour is only shown when in the end the individual benefits. When the group goals are in the way of the individual goals they suddenly fail to cooperate. The only thing that would make humans truly unique is if we could defy this innate ultimately egoistic nature and start to cooperate for the sake of the group and not the individual, without denying individual rights or forcing people to cooperate. But thanks to the great differences in intelligence and resources, and of course the vast amount of people, I do not believe that will ever happen.I agree that human are not special. But there is one important ability of human that other animals don't have; the ability to think and innovate. Human also cooperate and help each other, though we are strange creature as we slowly kill ourselves (and other animals) by using up resources.

It's hard to explain such detailed mechanisms and ideas over the internet but then again it's just basic biology mixed with my slightly pessimistic (or so I've been told) view on life so it should be understandable. But maybe we should just make a group conversation instead of filling up this thread.
I read a crazy interesting article on a research that proved chimpanzees think ahead and plan their activities for the next day (which would mean thinking is not so unique either) but I think it was in Dutch. I'll see if I can find it in English too.Well, it is not hard to understand at all. Since I'm studying Ecology for my undergraduate degree
I meant the ability to innovate and think is unique to humans, but not helping each other anyway...
Aw YEAH I feel good (also I'm glad there were many participants at this contest with great drawing and great effort devoted to the drawings )Well, the judging process didn't go as well as I expected. I'm never thing a contest again .-. Anyway...
After looking through all the participants' drawings, 3 of them seemed to take the most effort... And those participants are...
1st place: @Derplink_:3
2nd place: @PersonSP
3rd place: @numage
Yay! Congratulations on winning the contest! Great drawings and effort (but I'm not saying that all of the other drawings were bad)!
Now, the winners will receive their prizes as soon as they tell me that they still exist on the forum by replying on this thread.
Thank you folks for entering this painful contest ^-^
