"I dunno if that's a good idea, we might miss them if we search for them. Let's just hold out here and see if they'll come to us." She screamed over the revving of her chainsaw. Various vital organs were flying everywhere. While she loved snipers, she had to admit this chainsaw was getting crap done

"Alright..." Ayros said with a shrug. He just watched as Lara slashed her way through the herds of kids.

"Where'd you learn to fight like that?" he asked, resting his palm on the blade at his belt. No point in using it, he supposed-Lara was as much defense as he needed.

"Well, you know how babies are handled when their born right?" She asked. It was more out of politeness then an actual question, everyone knew. When a baby was born, it was immediately put through the test, a way to judge if it was fit for society or not. Of course, if it passed, it would grow up, take the test again when they become a teen, then live a happy life. If not...well, let's just say, as shown by the massacre currently going on, the government wasn't afraid to kill anyone, even babies. Granted, the test for babies is more lenient, you'd have to essentially be the devil reincarnated to fail it, but the idea of it always struck fear into new parents' hearts

"I was deemed unfit to live, of course. Except the guy who was running the tests happened to be a good friend of my dad, so he changed the results and hurried us out. Unfortunately, the government found out regardless and started trying to kill me. This caused my family to break apart, and I was left to fend for myself. You kinda learn quick to handle fights if you want to survive in a world where everyone wants to kill you. A few years pass and I go radio silent, get a new name, try and start a new life. Course, I still failed the test, but I wasn't gonna die immediately anyways." Lara tried to appear nonchalant, but delving into the past was bringing back old memories...her voice was growing more and more emotionless with each word

Here, now-what a time to bring up the past. Ayros looked up at Lara and said, "I never took the test. At least, not the kids' test," Ayros said, his voice hoarse. "My parents...my parents died before I took the test. And so did everybody else in the hospital with me..."

He took a deep breath before continuing. "I was raised by the gang who killed them. They came in with semi-automatics and killed everyone except the babies. They needed a new generation to carry on the gang when they were gone. One of the men who was there-the one who killed my parents-told me the whole story. He thought it would scare me into falling into line. Next day, the rest of our gang found him hanging from his neck off the flagpole in our compound, and I was gone, joining the next bang I came across. Between the two of them, I learned to murder and theive," he choked out.

"And how to hold my own in a bar fight, I suppose," he said, with a small, fake-sounding laugh.

"Speaking of" Lara started, as she sawed off the brain of a guy who snuck up on Ayros while he was doing his monologue, "You owe me another beer for saving you." 'Strange though. There's a lot of kids here, shouldn't most of them be dead by now? Can we stop?' She thought to herself.

Then her chainsaw ran out of gas

"No, I think we're about even by this point," he said, drawing his knife. "I could be wrong though; at this point, it's too hard to keep track of all the beers being owed." Ayros slashed at the girl coming up on his left and used her body to shield himself from a sword being thrust at him. With a quick slash he had cut the jugulars of three people around him.

"You wanna try?" he asked Lara, handing her the now-bloodied knife.

Lara noticed a nearby window and broke it, before grabbing someone and slamming their face down on the freshly jagged remains of the window panes. She ripped one of the more jagged pieces off, and used it to stab someone in the eye. Lara squeezed it in her glove, and looked up at Ayros with a crazed smile. "No thanks" she said

Ayros flipped his knife around his finger and laughed. "Alright," he said, a grin on his face.

((Where'd the other two authors go, do you think?))

(Given my prior experiences with role plays, I assume they aren't getting notifications. It happens if enough messages go by without them responding. @Tatsumi @Cloud )

  • #150
((You'd figure that @Tatsumi and @Cloud would check back after a while of no new notifications though...))

  • #151
Eh, maybe they thought that if they weren't getting notifications, it meant no one responded? Or maybe it's some other issue entirely. Regardless, I kinda don't want to end the scene yet without @Tatsumi and @Cloud , I feel like they'd be missing something, but I dunno what else to add besides more gore.)

  • #152
((It's kinda come to that point where we're just spitting out whatever we can, so...I guess we just wait for them to respond?))

  • #153
(Yea, let's stop for now, and if @Tatsumi and @Cloud dont respond in a couple of days, then we'll move on I guess)

  • #154
(okay bunch of stuff came up,but i am here now if everything is in order i'd like to end this killing thing it was supposed to be a small event to see the psychological impact taking a life would have on the characters but it looks like all of us are hardened killers who don't feel anything xD)

(Sorri I've been inactive lately. School and tales games don't mix well and tend to take up your time...-.-)

  • #156
(Kek, oops cloud, I kinda assumed it was just to show how desensitized the kids were. And dammit Tat, stop playing Tales XD)

The room smelled of death and blood. Bodies were all over the floor, a sickening sight for most normal kids. But Lara was used to it, she had seen things just as bad if not worse...not that she was proud to witness them, mind you. The only upside was it was easier to see the others with most of the kids dead by this point, and she finally saw Vahn and Rath. She nudged Ayros and pointed to them

(Never toxic! The tales games are so awesome ^.^)

Vahn surveyed the room with horror. "Dear God...I'm gonna hurl!" Said Vahn, then ran to the corner of the room, heaving.

Ayros laughed and pulled out the 5 millimeter. He had managed to steal a few blanks while he was in here, and ready to try them out. He fired once, straight into the air.

"Alright, everyone! Game's over. Thanks for playing!" he laughed, and then he turned serious. "Now, ask yourselves this: why fight each other? The more people who stay alive, the less likely we're going to be singled out by the guards to be beat or whatever. Look around. This many people could pass for 50, easy. So lay down your weapons, and let's all just have a nice, relaxed chat. Alright?" he said, in a moment of pure confidence and courage.

  • #159
"Um Ayros....aren't the rest of the kids looking at us a bit....weird..." said vahn, wiping the blood of his mouth.

  • #160
"Well, I'll take them all on, if they try anything," he whispered to Vahn. It was true. He thought he'd be able to beat them all on his own, no problem. Whether or not he could, well...*shrugs*
