Did they deserve to be in smash?

I never really thought of the purpose for Olama until I watched other play him and I play him for myself, some characters don't appear to be tough, but they are good at strategy's And can inflict alot of damage because of that strategy :D

pichu shouldnt,he sucks.
R.O.B.is cool,but just no.
personally i like snake, his attacks are ok,he should be one of those little side characters you get
villager just sucks though.

Wii fit trainer shouldnt be there. And toon link is just a reskin of link

ROB really is unnecessary. The clones on this new Smash too (Dark Pit, Dr.Mario), in my opinion they are there just to fill the character slots so Nintendo can say: "Smash 4 has much more characters than 3!".
Also, Jigglypuff. I don't like him.

No. There are many newcomers besides "clones". Duck Hunt Duo, the Koopalings, Rosalina and Luma, Shulk, Pac Man, Robin, Greninja, and Mega Man are more than 3 new characters (really interesting characters at that). And my only complaint about ROB is his two projectiles are annoying, more than Diddy Kong, especially when there is online lag against them. He has good moves, just terribly different timing in the air. And his Smash moves are strong but spammable.
