Yes, I do hate Region-Lock for sure, but I think that it is necessary for Nintendo to implement in their products.

Who doesn't hate region lock? lol It's a business practice that's understandable for Nintendo to pursue, but the common consumer would be annoyed by it :p

Don't count on them removing it. From a marketing point of view it may make some sense given potential differences in pricing regionally, and that by not having a region lock it allows greater chance of spoilers to hit the West (with patched ROMS and everything given we in the West probably care for those anyway).

tl;dr it's not really more money for Nintendo, if anything it's possibly saving them money they could lose

I agree, I wouldn't put my hopes up on them removing for a reason the same as this.

Yeah, I mean to us it's annoying because we are limited in the games we're able to play. But what can you do, the primary objective of any business is to maximize their profit :p

Although if you buy a Japanese console, that makes you region-locked to Japan forever, so the waiting option is probably the most rewarding out of your options...

Yeah that right too eh just have to wait then

Yeah, in the long run the waiting option is the best one to go for. Although if Nintendo does more international releases like they did with Pokemon X/Y that isn't even a problem :p

YES! I hate it so much because getting a Euro region game is pretty hard for me and specially the increased price is even worst. I would have loved it if there wasn't any region restrictions on 3DS.

Not to mention the fact that Nintendo is usually really late on getting things shipped over to you guys...like what is it, a 6 months to a year later at least?

Well, no region lock.
You will play it on japanese.

That would be okay?
That really isn't that big a deal, there are the english european only games. Besides while you may not be able to understand a lot of text in Japanese games it's more about playing the games. And this may be a personal thing as I'm a huge Dragon Quest fan those games only require a first grade level understanding of Japanese to play fully.

I agree, but most of the games are quite good to be honest, is just that Pokemon franchise have a huge fan-base that are willing to support it, and about the Region Lock, I heard that there was some restrictions and deactivation with people who would buy a game from Club Nintendo, and were not living in the U.S/Cananda

Wait what? Are you serious? Deactivation. Nintendo actually is going THAT far with people who don't live in U.S./Canada but use Club Nintendo stuff?

Actually it all abides to the Terms of Service that we agree to when signing up, I think its always important to understand rules when it comes to sites like those. It really isn't Nintendo's fault, it's just a way to protect the entire rewards system for being tampered with.

Oh ok. See, I don't really use Club Nintendo so I didn't know that. In nay case, lol I don't think there's a single thing where people actually read the Terms of Service for; many times it's just meant for common sense stuff
