DO you lose interest in videogames once you go into high school

I don't think anyone I know has lost interest in video games while we were in high school.
I played them just as much, until I had my daughter, then I had to slow down, but that wasn't related to school.

You just have to do homework first.

I haven't lost interest yet. In fact, High School was the start of me being allowed to play games at school. I became more competitive with my friends because of that. One guy even brought in his Gamecube and Melee during testing weeks to play during Advisory.
As others have said, you do lose some time to play games, and that's why they lose interest. But, that never happened to me! Then again, I'm the kind of person who will do homework in class while the teacher is teaching the lesson, and I tend to finish homework quickly anyways, so I usually have time. How much time you has depends on the kind of person you are.

Being the lazy genius I am, I just skip homework and go straight to playin video games when I get home :rotfl:

I think I lost some interest in video games when I got into high school, but I still played here and there when I had the time. I did extracurricular stuff once I was in my sophomore year though, so that made it a bit more difficult for me. I didn't stop playing completely, just not as much as I used to when I was in middle school.

Nope! I still play them and my school even has a after school club dedicated to videogames and a class that teaches you to make videogames.

Honestly I think it depends on the person, they may take schooling much more serious (which isn't a bad thing) and they cut out games from their life while some know how to balance fun and work.

lol I'm already in college and I still haven't lost interest in video games :rotfl:

Yeah, I'm in high school, and even though my marks slipped this year, I still play games a lot. It can hurt if you constantly play, like me this year, but otherwise, I never lost interest, especially after getting my 3ds, which made me play even more than usual...

personally I sort of stopped playing (mostly for the fact the play station was moved into my brothers room and I didn't really want to go in there).

But once I got into college, I'll tell you all right now, I've played more video games now than I ever had my entire life. Esp when you make drinking games out of Mario kart (ask for more details cause it's great). Same can be said for halo, smash bros, left 4 dead 2, and call of duty. Plus if you like getting street passes, you'll love bringing your DS on campus and getting like 10 in a day cause everyone else is literally doing the same thing. 10/10 reccomend.

Even though you will get a lot more homework you won't lose interest. The problem ends up being that you do not have a lot of free time.

I hope I won't considering I start it in about 2 1/2 weeks :p

It's not that I lose interest in video games, but I do have significantly less time when school rolls around. Doesn't mean that I don't have time for it at all during the year, and a group of friends of mine during lunch plays Smash 3DS in a corner so it's all good for me at least.

Oh, and I still keep up with the news regardless. Maybe an exception with video news, but I normally multi-task doing math hw while listening to podcast/news so it doesn't really slow me down at all. All in all, no, high school does not deteriorate my interest with video games.

This is coming from a guy with a minimum of 4.0 GPA

It would actually be the opposite for me. With all of the homework from high school and working nonstop, I would be playing games more frequently since I have the urge to have some fun.

at my school we get laptops that i hack, so i can play tons of games. I play way more games than before

More like 2-3 years in high school. I didn't have as much time as before and even worse in Uni. I used to play all the MMORPG out there but now restricted to one (with 3-4 years without MMORPG at all). I still do play 3DS at times though (and DS in high school).

I actually got more and more into games, as well as anime, manga, light and visual novels and stuff.

I was never in trouble managing my time, conidering that in my country, or at the very least my city, but i think it's country-wise, it's actually ten times harder to drop out or get held back a year than to actually pass the school year.

In fact, you'd have to actively try to underscore and not go to school, i basically went 80 something days to the entire 9-month school year and they still just made me do a few exams and forget it ever happened xD i graduated on equal standing to the rest of my classmates, i even reached a memetic status in my school due to almost mever going.

So, really, time hasn't affected my interest in video games, and i don't think it ever will

I don't think that going to High School makes you lose interest in videogames, it's just being busy with work reduces your time to play them. I'm in college and love video games as much as I always have, but I probably only play up to like 5 hours a week due to the sheer amount of work we have to do.

You probably should have done a paper... even if it was on how good videogames can be :p
But yeah, not doing a paper probably counts as "nothing done" while you probably could at least have had a bad mark with an "offtopic" paper.

I found if you dont find a friend at school with video games in mind quickly, then you begin to lose interest just like I did. But, your interest dips at times especially when you have upcoming tests and an overload of homework. However, once you are into gaming no matter what happens, it will always stay that way.
