Some of us like to hide meanings in the names/nicknames of our pets, Pokémon and our towns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf (or, in fact, anything that can has a name).

Personally, my town is called "Tejemet". Tejemet is the meaning for "us" in the Nahuat language, and I like to thing it's a sign of union in my town and its residents.

What about your town? Does it hide any meaning?

Mine doesn't really have much of a special meaning XD I named mine Lunaira, which is the name of the town in a comic book I wrote when I was younger. It just seemed kind of fitting too since I often play at night and Luna basically means moon. Maybe when I get bored and restart it I might have a more meaningful name, but for now its just my humble little Lunaira.

My town name is "Keef". My original name on this forum was ChiefKeef before just being Chief. For those of you who don't know, Chief Keef is a rapper. So yeah, basically I was listening to a lot of his music and decided to name my town after him.

The name of my Animal Crossing New Leaf town is FoxVille. The hidden meaning isn't very "hidden" it's just that Fox is my last name. The first name of my town was sunytown because I was still young and didn't know how to spell, and because I spent like 30 minutes trying to decide on a name that would make my town different then everybody else. Ya

I named my town Aniville because I liked the sound of it.It has no meaning other than the fact that is a combination of the words animal and village.

Well here's my town names.

FunWorld: My first ever town. I had no idea what to name it, so I named it that. I regret it, but the name has sentimental memories because I also named my Wild World town that for the same reason.

Termina: This is a town that I'm not going to be keeping, but I named it Termina because Majora's Mask is my favourite Zelda game.

Foxworld: I love foxes and the name was supposed to go together with my main town xD

Insanity: Because sometimes me and my friends think I act completely insane. lol

My doesn't hold a special meaning, no. I named mine Rockwood haha I saw the name someplace a couple of years ago and it became the place where almost all of my stories are set. :p I just like the way it sounds and it fit within the character limit so I figured why not! The name reminds me of what a village or small town might be named so I thought it was fitting for the game. :)

I found myself doing the same thing with Alan Jackson I had named my town Jackson as I listened to his music a lot after I lost my father and it was like a connection for me in a weird way. However, that is how my town got its name the first time.

My towns second name after I restarted is fallslana it got this name because it is where I camped with my fiance and the next day he asked me to go out with him. It's a place I will never forget and a place I enjoy going so I figured I would name my town that as I love going to my town and visiting with all my neighbors and meeting so many new people all over the world when I go online. This town is deff. something I look forward to visiting whenever I can.

I call my town Canada, mainly because I like to view myself as Canadian. This is because my dad lived there (should say born there) for three months and he moved to the USA but kept his citizenship. One day some kids in my class were talking (either the 5th or 6th grade, can't remember) when everyone started talking about where their family was from. After I said Portugal, some kid laughed, talked about how they were the rudest people ever due to colonizing Brazil, and I went home crying when my mom reminded me I was part Canadian. I was so happy, because I have always heard how nice those people were, so I consider my self the mayor of Canada to this day.

If I remember correctly, my town's name is Fellyville. Not a very original name, haha. I just took my username and added "ville" to it.

I have the most basic name ever. My town is called "New Leaf". It was named after the title (obviously) but it still sounds kinda cool for an Animal Crossing game.I know some real life places which start with the word New (like New York and all), and that is how I finally decidedthe name.

My town is called 'Hyacinth' because in 2014, my grandma, Hyacinth, died. She was very special to me, and I remember cerying so much I had a headache. It was really sad, because I didn't think she would die; I thought 'Oh, it's fine. It's probably just cancer again, She'll be better soon' so it was a real kick in the crotch when it happened. I named the town after to keep her alive in my heart. I even made a little grave site, so I can visit whenever. I have a path with pink and purple flowers. Pink because she was fighting breast cancer. She'd go on a bunch of walks with her friends. Purple because a hyacinth is also a flower and their mostly purple.

Mine is called "Rose". I named it that way for various reasons. One being that, being a flower, roses bloom (just like how the town does as you take time to take care of it). Of course if you leave it alone, weeds take over and the flower wilts.
Another reason was because of the character Rose from the show Doctor Who (I love that show!!).
Lastly, I'm pretty sure I was thinking of the quote "We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses."
Either way, it worked out perfectly because one of the default patterns is a rose.. (I set it as my town flag).

There isn't exactly any hidden meaning to my town. My town is called beau which in French is beautiful, like how a own is if you take amazing care of it, I was thinking of naming it Belle but then I thought that i'm not part Italian and Beau would make more sense, I'm mostly French

"Belle" is the femenin for "beau", though. Still, it's a good name!

I remember my first town's name was "Shinrin", which is "Forest" in Japanese. Mostly because I was (and still sorta am) that weeaboo kid that thinks every Japanese word sounds cool. But it was a pretty decent name for a while. My most recent town was named "Tanami" (Grove in Japanese), mostly because it sounded a little more like the name of a town.

I named my town Awesomia! Because it's an an awesome place with ia at the end to make it a name!
Or does it have hidden meaning?
Could it be that my town is not what I think it is?
Are there secret works happening in the shadows?
Is this only a dystopia disguised as a utopia?!
Do the weeds symbolize something that if isn't controlled, will take over the town?!
Is Isabelle actually a power hungry monster only being help back by my authority?!
Are the citizens of my town actually assassins trying to take me out?!
Meh, probably not. I'm just bad at coming up with names.
