Fairy types are kind of eh. They aren't any really fairy types I'd call OP (well, that are in OU and below, anyway) and most have low enough defense that Dragons can OH or 2-HKO most of them with a Poison or Steel move.
I'd like to point out that Gardevoir is pretty good as a Fairy type. I mean, she access to a mega form that boosts her stats and all that, so some dragons (*cough* Hydreigon *cough*) may have a hard time with her. I'm pretty sure she's OU as well

She's a Psychic/Fairy type, so it's not like a complete type change haha Plus, she gains a legit mega form (to the extent that shiny Mega Gardevoir looks cool), that has a cool ability (Pixilate), so she's got some new things going for this gen
252 SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Flash Cannon vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Gardevoir: 226-268 (81.2 - 96.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO That's usually what the two run, and as Garvedoir would presumably be switching on a predicted DracoMeteor, you could get that.

Well that's assuming the Hydreigon guy predicts correctly. But you should know that Mega Gardevoir has a higher speed than Hydreigon, so Hydreigon would have to be running Choice Scarf instead, which would weaken the impact a bit. And with the 4x weakness+STAB...yeah, one Moonblast would be enough to kill Hydreigon.

I guess that's true, but no one really uses Hydregion anyway. And very few people use Garvedoir, and those that do tend to use Mega Garvedoir. (In OU, anyway).

Fairy types are quite good offensively, so they're quite useful while playing through. Also, Sableye and Spiritomb now have a weakness!

That's true, and they aren't bad defensively, either. Even though many do have poor defensive STATS, they do have good defensive TYPING. Two uncommonish weaknesses with no High Base Power moves is very nice.

Yeah, finally a Pokemon type that can switch into a Dragon type move without damage. I think Klefki could make a good wall for Dark types (kinda doubting Dragon since they can learn Fire and Ground moves), even though its stats are meh. Too bad it has no evolution :/

Yeah, I'm really surprised that no new Pokemon with Fairy Types (besides for two) evolve. I'm sure that X2Y2 will bring a ton more evolutions and Mega Evolutions, and new pokes. I'm super hyped for the sequel games.

Klefki has Prankster which helps it out even if it has meh stats. Also, it's not really just Klefki that'd be good against Dark, since Mawile is also Steel/Fairy. And if you add in the fact that it has a mega form...gg

I usually use Special Sheer Force Nidoking. Pretty much the best special sweeper ever, and no one uses it. Pretty much OHKOs or 2HKOs all fairies minus special Sylveon.

I think as a dragon type lover that fairy type wasn't a good idea they could have done something more daring like a demon type or angel type pokemon wouldn't that be more exciting can you imagine battling team plasma with demon pokemon and the 2 legendary's could be a demon, dragon type and a angel, dragon type imagine that LOL

I really doubt we'll be seeing another type. Things are pretty balanced right now, and there's really nothing that needs fixing. If they add anything, it'd be something like an "Adnormal type" that normal is super effective to.

even then, an "Adnormal type" wouldn't be that needed because many normal type pokemon have another type as well (for example, all those normal/flying pokemon....). Fairy type definitely made things more balanced by giving a buff to poison/steel while nerfing dragon. Normal doesn't need to be impacted

I never found Dragon types OP, so I'm not very fond of the Fairy types. The Dragon types are only super effective against Dragon types, so that they are already balanced, IMO. They have a lot of resistances but if an Ice-type finds you, Dragons are dead. I always disliked pink Pokemon like Clefairy and this encouraged them to add more. :pompus:

Ice type may have an advantage against dragon, but it has loads of weaknesses that hinder it (Rock, Steel, Fighting, and Fire are commonly seen in the metagame). It's rare to see a legitimate ice type if you ask me, and Dragon definitely needed another weakness to keep things a bit more balanced

While that is true, I can think of three good ice types: Kyreum-B (W too, but that's banned), Mamoswine, and Cloyster. These three are really the only three that you ever see in OU, and that's because each of them is just absurdly powerful, in their own right. If any other these pokes received another type (except for maybe Cloyster) and comparable STAB moves for the type, it'd be Suspected and maybe even go up to Ubers.

Fairies are OP if you don't have a counter to them. Unburden Belly Drum Slurpuff, Azumarill, and Whimsicott to name a few. I like them for what they offer to battles which in this case is more strategizing.
