you got till the 13th of next month so dont rush anything if you dont have to. though i do understand if people wanna do this quick so they can do valentines pics for people. and even if i sound mean, i really don't mean to. my general rule is i'm not alowed to be too judgemental about requests (or contest entries in this case) since i really cant draw intentionally all that well. even when i'm really focused, the best i can do is something that vaguely has the right shapes lol. and anyway, if something's bad, it just means they're still learning and can still further improve.

good to hear. i'll announce what the (almost) final reward will be when i go and reserve my n3dsxl since i plan on getting it then since i'll be there anyway. and i'll need at least one of the two first cards anway if the prize does actually make it for teir 3. in which case i'll have to buy the other 2 cards before i choose a winner. make sure to spread the word!

Here is my entry! It took me a long time but I finally got it done. This was a clever contest. The simplicity of the sprite was a big part of my iteration! I look forward to future contests like this.
If there is a problem with the way the picture was uploaded, I would happily upload another snapshot.

kinda hard to make out some details but i think that's only because its mostly black so outlines are a bit overtaken by it all... and i'm sorry, but i cant help but laugh at the shape of his head xD interesting with the symbols though and nice job on the shaping on the teal parts (for lack of a better term)

To me it looks like white hair underneath a white lion head (so that's what I am drawing) but I think it's up to your own interpretation.

its completely up to interpretation, but i had intended his hair white with red tints. (in reality it was just a crop of some parts of the original sprite with inverted colors) i think i was just lazy with the black spot there though lol and his helmet is in his hand there. personally i think he looks better without it, but that was the first part i saw from the original sprite so i wanted it in there

@BacklogGamer Lol, sorry. My phone's camara isn't exactly the best so things may come out a bit blurry. I am a horrible photographer. Anyway, the head, believe it or not, is fine. The tiger-or-game-cat cap makes it seem uneven. I actually used a graphite pencil for the outline which isn't very dark. You can tell from his head and his body that's not covered by the armour. Thanks for good words on the symbols and the color of the armour, which took ages to get just right. Longer than drawing the picture, actually. Hope I win ;-)

@Charizard1710 you have to draw my sprite (the guy not crystal thing) in any media you want with full creative freedom, and my favorite picture wins.

@Duska80 it's doesn't have to be colored if you don't want it to be, but it may end up being a deciding factor. also "and I can't draw is and online tool so good..." wanna run that by me again? ;-;

@RichGamerton lol alright then. do try to get a better picture though if you can, but i'll keep that in mind when making my final decison.

The second picture (the base?) looks pretty much like MapleStory. But the first one? Is it from MapleStory as well?
I'm a huge MapleStory fan in the past xD

lol yea its the master monster portal aka mystic gate npc that some of the bosses are in. the guy is just the mystic gate cropped into a new shape. the hair is inverted colors, the eyes are from this ghonst npc in the edelstein mines, the symbols from the familiar cards, the skin-tone is from Starling, and the stupid cube on his side that's supposed to be a card-case was me "trying" xD
