Theoretically if you scaled everything down enough it's possible, but it definitely won't look pretty or play exactly the same.
However with the fact that Nintendo's focus is on the Switch, its literal replacement since its portable a port to a 7 year old system is just a pipe dream. I'd rather that they focus their full attention on the Switch because there is a serious lack of games on the switch, especially releases this year.
