Players have until Saturday, February 7th to finish their matches. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of the least active user in any particular match up.

This is the first (of likely many) events that I'll be hosting in 2015. Spoiler Alert: Splatoon is a game that has online that I'm looking VERY forward to. Look out for that in May.

But anyway, I've been playing a lot of Smash Bros. for 3DS these past few days, and one of my favorite things to do is set the launch rate to 2.0 without telling anyone. It always ends hilariously.

The rules go as follow:

1v1 Matches
3 Stock Matches
Final Destination ONLY (FD versions of stages allowed)
No items (this includes Smash Ball)
The following characters are banned from this competition:​

  • Wario
  • Little Mac
  • Ganondorf
  • Ike
  • King Dedede
  • Greninja
  • Captain Falcon
  • Shulk
  • Mii
  • Ness
  • Rosalina & Luma

Custom moves are not allowed.

The main rule, however, is that all matches must be played at 2.0 launch rate. Yes I understand that this is going to result in very quick matches and some of you may find it unfair, but please understand that this is a contest I'm doing for fun for the community. Winning is not the objective here. Fun is. Fun is fun.

Yes, there is a prize in case you were wondering. Because regions are a thing, Marc is going to give the user Play Coins equal to the amount of a $10 eShop card if they live in Europe or Canada. So basically:

If you live in North America, you win a $10 eShop card which will be delivered by me.
If you live in Europe or Canada, you'll receive 1,700 Play Coins delivered by Marc.


Sign Ups Close when we reach 16 players, however this may change depending on how many people sign up and how fast they do it.

Any players caught cheating will be disqualified.

Well, I guess I could be more specific. The tournament will likely start next Friday or Saturday and everyone will have 5 days to finish their matches.

Added that you have to have 20 posts to join so no random people make an account just to join in on this and never come back. It happened with my Mario Kart 8 tournament >.>

It'll start when 16 people join. If 16 people join by the end of the day or something crazy I may up it to 32 people. Probably not, though.
