Yeah. If I only do 16 players, round 1 will be 8 matches (1v1), round 2 will be 4 matches (1v1), round 3 will be two matches, and then obviously round 4 will be just one match between the final two contestants.

My FC is 1891-2554-1083. Can I join?

Not really. I was just banning characters I think are cheap/hit really hard. Everyone would be using Little Mac or Ganon if I didn't ban them.
