As it's been said there's no reason not to get the DLC, unless you really want to save that $9 Or play with non-DLC players

The DLC is worth it. Not only do you get a lot cooler weapons, but you also get more features. Birds and dragons can join your side as pets, you can go to level 200, you can get one rank higher to Creator/God rank, a new area known as Origin Island, more of the great storyline, and more. I'd say the Fantasy Life DLC is worth it.
