Mario Kart What is your opinion on non-Mario characters being in Mario Kart 8?

I personally like the feature, as it brings worlds together and lets racers play as their favorite characters. I think that its fine we are getting characters like villager and link, as long as there not too expensive and they add new courses. Although we don't need sonic. ever.

I agree it brings the gaming world together but you don't want to add random characters that nobody enjoys you want to add characters that fit with the game like link in Mario Kart 8

Link and the villagers are cool and I'm glad that they made it onto the Mario Kart 8 series and I actually wanted Pikachu or Kirby to be in Mario Kart 8 because it would of been have been cool they are my favorite characters in Super smash bros it would be awesome if they made were in Mario Kart 8 as DLC and would be funny also it wouldn't hurt to put some fire emblem character in Mario Kart 8 ,but I guess they didn't make it also I believe that Nintendo should of made a new Mario Kart game instead of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe , Deluxe only added characters like Dry Bones,Bowser jr.,Gold Mario, King Boo, and the Spaltoon main characters I was hoping they they were going to more characters ,but instead they only released like 5 :/.

So there is this new DLC in Mario Kart 8 that features Non-Mario related characters being added to the roster. As you might have already known, they are Link, Villager and Isabelle.
Me personally am very excited for this. But some people are unsure of it.
Should Nintendo add more non-Mario characters in the future?

I don't have anything against it to be honest, as long as they add decent ones and not garbage fillers here. While i know it does seem kinda awkward to people and that might be why they say to erase them, i think its a rather creative idea on Nintendo's part i personally am glad to see splatoon inkling added, theyre adorable and deserve a place in the games ! ;D

Well in smash 4 we had non Nintendo characters like ryu, Mega Man, PAC Man, Sonic, and some more in previous titles so I would say we might have a chance for some other characters let's just hope they make good characters for those games tho.

I'm fine with them as long as they're strictly guests. It's Mario Kart, after all. Let the focus remain on the Mario cast while adding guests from time to time.

I actually really like it

First off, it allows for a broader range of content and is thus not strictly restricted to Mario themes only. It also allows you to experience some of the other great games to be experienced in Mario kart style.

While it would certainly be great if the majority of the characters are Mario only, i'll encourge the entry of other characters as well.

I don't see the issue with it none - it helps draws other people into the franchise as well as expose those within the franchise to new ones, and it doesn't really detract much other than thematically.

Only thing I'm really against is real life racers in the game. It just...feels wrong. I understand why they're there from a business sorta standpoint, but...no thank you.

I think they are pretty cool, it is a fun addition to the carácter roster of the game and in the end they all belong to the nintendo universo. In my own personal opinión, I love playing with link. I think I haven´t played with those animal crossing characters but it is ok, because there is something for everyone. I would love to see kirby on a mario kart game someday, that would be awesome!!

I honestly think that mario kart 8 deluxe is the final mario kart game, 1st of all, they didnt make a new mario kart for the witch just a port of the wii u one strange isnt it. secondly they have added quite a bit of guest racers from 3 seperate franchises, and with ninteno now anything can happen.. nintendo kart is next, amd if i had to put a date it would be 2018 e3, starting out as normal mk trailer but just quarter of the way thru other charcters just coming in. Cups would be franchise specific, and 2-3 charcters from each series with the main mario crew.

Why shouldn’t we support Nintendo finally evolving thier mario kart into Nintendo kart? We wouldn’t have to stick with the same themes every game (mario curcit, ghost house, beach level, desert level, bowser’s castle) though they have been getting more creative with making new places to race (amusement parks, ski resorts, and tracks just for certain baddies(shy guy falls, thwomp ruins)) they arn’t really from the mario games. With new nintendo characters we allready got a hyrule castle themed course, tracks based on another racing game Nintendo made, and the animal crossing map. Splatoon also gave us a new battle mode map. Just think, kirby, metroid, star fox, pokemon, and many other Nintendo franchises haven’t even been touched! This could be amazing.
