I believe mine was either Mario Kart DS or Super Mario 64 DS. Both were great and hold a special place in my childhood ;w;

My first mario game was Super Mario 64 DS. I wanted to get Mario Kart DS but my sister wanted me to get Super Mario 64 so bad so I got it. Anyways, I didn't regret getting that game because I had tons of fun. Couldn't stop playing tbh. I finished the game if any of you guys wanted to know e.e.

Mine was Super Mario 64 DS. Oh boy, I remember raging so much on the 'Over the Rainbows (or 'Rainbow'?)' level. However, it runs much smoother for me on the 3DS, it was just too tacky for me on a D-pad. And I definitely remember the darn piano. NSMB was my second game. Also, is it just me or are Mario games just getting a bit soft on the difficulty these days? For example, I remember playing Super Mario All Stars on my child minder's SNES console and I remember how long it took me to complete 'Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels' (that thing is a platforming hell, btw), whereas it only took me 2 days to get through NSMB DS with all the coins and everything?

What? Mario Hoops 3 on 3, anyone? That was my favorite game when I first had a DS. I used Ninja the most.
FUN FACT: Mario Hoops 3 on 3 is associated with Square Enix, hence why some characters from the franchise appear in the game.

My very first DS game was Supera Mario 64 yahoo, MAMA MIA, ITSA ME MARIO!!!!! Those were the most membered Mario quotes and many more. It was the game I really wanted ever since I got my DS, it came bundled with my DS and since most of my friends had a DS and the game I was pretty hyped when I first tried the multiplayer in the game. Twas a fun experience from start to end, I even have that very same cartridge till this day.

My very 1st Mario DS game was Super Mario 64 DS.It was an amazing game...until it broke.R.I.P SM64 Game Card:(
Super Mario 64 DS was my first DS game when i got my DS for getting good grades in school, when i saw this game, i was remembering the old days when playing the original Super Mario 64 game, and when i got it, boy it was confusing at first because i see Luigi,Wario and Yoshi and they changed the story a little bit, and i played as yoshi i said (Wheres mario? i wanna play as mario, not this dinosaur, i never knew who is yoshi till i got a GBA game of Super Mario World) as soon as i played with him a little while, i was enjoying playing as yoshi. Now i unlocked Mario and decided to stay as Mario till i find others, but i din't Luigi but i saw a wario picture in the castle and i was trying to find a way to get in, and when i went to course 5 boy i saw luigi and i was happy to find him. The remake was awesome but using the D-pad to control is kinda a bit wonky.

My first Mario DS game also happens to be my first DS game AND my first ever game. It is new super mario bros. It was awesome. I remember playing the first world over and over again because I was too scared as a child to move on to world 2. It was so awesome! :D

I believe that my first game would have been Mario Kart DS, although I've lost that game and don't have it any longer... :(

My first Mario game on the Nintendo DS console was definitely the New Super Mario Bros. :D I think that it was kinda new at that time so I got it :p It was a really fun game, though I never really managed to beat the whole game. Some of the levels were kinda ridiculously hard but still it was the first and the best to me, asides from MK though :giggle:

Mine was super mario 64 ds. When I learned that you could play as wario, there was no stopping me beating this game. I have literally glitches this game in more ways imaginable and thrown more penguins off of cliffs ;( than in any other game. This has always been my favorite ds title. I've had it since 2006 and I've yet to have it stop working. I have many great memories of playing this game as wario. 100/10

My Very first Mario game for the Nintendo DS Lite was Mario Kart because I love mario and I loved racing so I decided to try the game. I loved it and then I got super Mario Bros. However I had a mario game for the Game Boy. Who remembers the Game boy and the Game Cube. I loved them consols, and that is how my heart was set on Nintendo and I am a Nintendo Person for LIFE! :)

My first mario Ds game was new super mario bros. I loved that game and could play it for hours and hours. I loved the music and all the different power ups that mario could get in the game. Each world in the game are very creative and colorful. You could also play with other people on the game too. You could do Ds download play or play with someone who already had the game. The game was a little hard for me but I still enjoyed the game as much as I could.

My first DS Mario game was New Super Mario Bros. Not to mention, that is the first DS game I ever played and maybe even the first Mario game I played/owned. That game was what got me into the Mario series, and I am greatful for that, but my wallet isn't. So many good times in that game, even when beating Bowser for the first time.

I love Super Mario Bros DS its a pretty fun game. So New Super Mario Bros. is a game that's been a long time coming. It's clear that a Super Mario game is a really big deal for Nintendo, and a game bearing the Super Mario namesake needs to be significant. With this new game, the more things change, the more they stay the same: the basis for New Super Mario Bros. is, surprise, to save the princess. In this design, Bowser Jr. has snagged Peach right out from Mario's nose, and taken her to the closest fortress possible

Super Mario 64 DS, both my first DS Mario game and my first DS game.

Ehhh... It wasn't a very good remake despite all the new content. Why? The lack of a joystick, it kills the very concept of the game, and makes the gameplay nigh-unbearable.

I don't know if it counts cause it was my cousins but it was Mario Part ds I loved that game.
I would always play it on his ds (sadly his ds broke with the game) but it was a really fun game in my opinion.
My first Mario game that I owned was Mario March of the minis it was a fun game I really liked it. I still have it today.

As I had already voted on in this thread, I said my first game I got/played was New Super Mario Bros. and I remember getting it at a Sam's Club. It had neat features and had the hidden challenge of collecting all the stars and finding the secret Worlds if you didn't know any better. I liked how the bosses were unique and that you had more mobility that originated in SM64 like the wall jump and triple jump. I liked how a level or two wanted the player to wall jump but other than that it just made the game easier. I find the level designs to be super memorable but fairly easy.
