whats the best weapon to use

I don't know much about the new weapons from monster hunter 4 ultimate, but from the ones I have tried so far the gunlance is the best to me. Why? Well simply because it is a really powerful weapon that lets you cover from the monsters' attack and the combination of attacks is terrific. I really like this weapon.
