Ugh, the CD-i games easily gain the title of "Worst 100 games ever produced". This game was horrible in every way, and let me list a few:
The controls. SO horrendous. Found a rupee in front of a door? Well, too bad! You NEED to swing your sword to pick them up, and the button for the sword is also a button that opens the door.

The animations. Just... no. The cutscenes featured those colourful scenes that were pretty visually complex, but thr characters looked SO bad in them. I mean, just look at Link's face...

I just needed to vent out my hate for the CD-i games that had boiled up from my childhood.

I don't want to say that this is the worst zelda game ever, because I haven't played them all, but if the Zelda games I've played, my least favorite was Skyward Sword. The controls, while they worked on a technical level, were more tedious than fun. All fights took much longer than they needed too, and items like the beetle were almost impossible to use. It's not really a bad game, and I even understand why people like it, it's just not my cup of tea

My least favorite actual Zelda game is Twilight Princess.

I can't exactly judge the CD-i Zelda games because I've never played them.

It's funny how people's opinions on Zelda games differ so much isn't it? With many other game series, there is a pretty defined list of the best and worst games, yet with Zelda there is much more variation. My favorite Zelda games are Majora's mask and Twilight princess, yet those are many peoples least favorites. I guess it just goes to show how truly excellent the Zelda series really is.

Yeah, I just prefer the more lighthearted Zelda games. Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess are both amazing games but they're very near the bottom of my favorite Zelda game list.

Personally, I thought that The Legend of Zelda DS games were quite lousy. Though Adventure of Link was worse.
I agree if the DS ones had normal controls instead of the whole touch screen I would love to play them. Also even if the Adventure of Link was good I mean it wasn't that bad I loved it since it had elements that inspired the new new games have also I love all LOZ games they are worthy of playing. :D

My least liked Zelda games would be Majoras Mask, that I've hardly played, Wind Waker, that I really had mxed feelings about (cute, nice, but sooo boring) for the couple of hours I played it and Link's Awakening, that wasn't boring or anything, just not motivating at all.

I hate the first Zelda game. With a passion. It's so hard, I couldn't get past anything. (I got it for virtual console, I am NOT that old.) The game's also basically impossible without a walkthrough. I also kind of hate any game that I'm completely stuck in, so that would be every Zelda game at some point...

Yeah the ones you listed are probably the worst of the worst . I can't even imagine such games and I am glad that they weren't made from Nintendo because that would then be a real shame . It's hard to imagine such terrible gameplay and sometimes I wish that those games never ever existed becuase man , are they terrible or what . Even the names of the games are horrible enough

Yup, Zelda CD-i takes the cake. Wow what happened there. Its funny how this game actually had to be approved by Nintendo due to copyright issues, so is this one of Nintendo's worst licensed Zelda games that are locked away. Anyways, I've seen PBG play them and at least he makes these awful games a bit amusing.

well i have to disagree with the oot statement. it didn't just feature a new mechanic, it featured much more then that. for one it was the first zelda to introduce gorons and zoras, the main beings in zelda. 2. its the first zelda from which you get to ride a horse. 3. the boss fights aren't all the same. you must use what you learned, and the items you have found to discover the bosses weakness. every zelda does that. even zelda 1. one boss you have to use the flute to shrink him,. another boss you need a bomb to blow him up. 4. it had a very great and detailed story line. 4. unlike the zelda games before it, it was the first that introduced many thinks to do other then the quest itself. side quests, games in the villages, interacting with tons of other charecters, even the happy mask salesmen had side quests for you. 5. while its not as challenging as zelda 1. it makes up for that with the intense puzzles in the dungeons. what made zelda one hard was trying to survive the zelda dungeons without running out of your lives. in oot you spend forever trying to find your way through tons of puzzles, then the boss fight that is well worth the trouble. the boss fight is the only thing that makes you keep going through the chalenging puzzles. so while its not like other zeldas, its a zelda of its very own. with ALOT of awsome stuff in it. things that were extremly cool for its time.
Wow, it's been a while since I made that dumb OoT remark, hasn't it? Anyways, after playing more of the game, I'd say it's really fun, but a bit too hard. I didn't really know what I was saying.

The worst Zelda game I have played would be Zelda II adventures of link. It is a 2D side scrolling games which is just so different from all the other games in the series. It has different mechanics and not the best design either. It was really difficult and annoying.

Everyone can agree that the Wand of Gamelon an The Faces of Evil are terrible games. The CD-i wasn't even meant to be a gaming system. Even though the animators were on a low budget, they could've at least made link a little less... lousy. These games are criticised by many and Nintendo doesn't acknowledge them for obvious reasons.

I first learned of the atrocity of the CD-i games when YTPs of them started becoming a really big thing on Youtube. While the days of these YTPs are long gone, given way to much more complex editing and sentence mixing, the memories of these games and their terrible art style will forever live on in the hearts of those who are unable to forget them...:dead:

Well, it’s pretty obvious that the CD-i games would suck, mainly because Nintendo had absolutely nothing to do with the entire project. They just sold the right for the characters and series, and just let Phillips take it from there. And trust me, Phillips had absolutely no experience with making games, which is easily proven by these monstrosities, and other games, such as Hotel Mario.
