Day 10, Part One
We pulled into the garage... I got out, grabbed the pizzas, slammed my car door and ran into the mansion without further ado. I raced into the kitchen, washed my hands, grabbed a plate and loaded it with pizza slices. Jackson walked in, and was shocked to find me already stuffing my face with pizza.
"Well, I guess someone was hungry," he said. "Leave some for me."
I just responded with a simple,"Mmhmm." It was pretty much all I could manage to say with my mouth so full. After I had wolfed down a few slices, I finally came up to breath. Jackson was just sitting down to eat his first slice.
"OK, you also owe me an explanation," I said. "You told me that those guys wanted you dead not for you, but because of something you found. What exactly was it that you found that would make them want to kill you so badly?"
"A weapon,"he said after a pause. "I located a weapon from an old myth. If the myth is actually true...This weapon could be more powerful than a nuclear bomb. And the old myth is starting to make sense, and I think that the weapon has something to do with you."
"What do you mean, 'has something to do with me.' "
"Come on, I'll show you."
He got up, and opened a kitchen drawer. He pulled out a set of keys while I inhaled another slice, and a slice of the enormous cookie. He fingered through the keys until he found one he wanted, and then he pulled it off its ring.
"Coming?" he asked.
I grabbed another slice and then ran after him. We walked down to the basement. It was awesome, and bigger than I had expected. Luxury furniture was everywhere, and there was a small kitchen down here, and some bedrooms. Jackson walked over to an area covered by a rug and pulled the rug aside. Underneath, was a 8x8 cutout in the floor, with a tiny knob. He pulled it and it was a small door, leading to a much larger room. We stepped down into the room, and Jackson tossed me a flashlight. We clicked them on, and I saw steps winding down into darkness. We walked over to them and began descending into darkness...

When I read stories, I HATE cliffhangers. When I write stories, I use them all the time!

Good job, as usual!
