Day 12, Part One
Jackson swiveled around his computer...He quickly typed something else, then he paused.
"Troy, you weren't the only person struck that night. Hundreds more were affected by that freak storm. Your cells must have responded to the lightning bolt, and somehow absorbed the energy in it, allowing you to manipulate lightning. Since you were struck underwater, you must have been given the ability to control water as well. The others that were affected must have been affected in unique ways, giving them different abilities."
He turned the computer back towards me, and showed me a video. Some bystander had been able to capture on camera a fight between two things. One was a human, except he was completely encased in fire, and shooting fireballs at his opponent. His enemy was more complicated. It wasn't a human, but pure energy. It was strange looking, it was completely red energy with black particles mixed in it. It swirled and churned violently, dodging fireballs as if it had a mind of it's own. I realized what was about to happen before it even did. The fire dude spun around, and released a stream of fire from his hands. The energy simply dove to the left, and attacked lightning fast. It slammed him in the chest, and as he fell it rushed at him. He slammed into the ground as it completely covered him, and after a few seconds it faded. For a second he laid there, then his orange flames turned dark red and black, and his eyes turned molten red. He yelled in agony, and then there was am explosion. When the video came back into focus, there was nothing but scorch marks and burning trees everywhere.
"The good news is that the fire guy survived the explosion," Jackson said. "The bad news is that he's still possessed, and ever sine he has been wreaking havoc upon New York. The last place he was seen was in Manhattan."
"Well, what are we supposed to do about it?" I asked.
Jackson typed something else on his computer, and then smiled. Turning the computer towards me, I saw he was on the delta airlines website.
"Ever been to New York?" Jackson asked.
