Day 14, Part One
I awoke on a couch... I pushed off a blanket that had been folded over me and stood, stretching. Everything hurt. I looked around warily. I was in a huge apartment, but you'd never know it was an apartment from the inside. There was nice leather furniture everywhere, the floor was a nice wood flooring, and everything else was super nice. I started to take a few steps forward, until I heard somebody coming down stairs. When they came into view, I almost had a heart attack. It was fire dude, except he wasn't on fire. I immediately grabbed my knife, unsheathed it, and ran at him. Naturally, I tripped and landed flat on my face. I knocked over a glass vase and it shattered against the floor. The fire guy yelled, "Troy's awake!" and I heard another set of feet come down the stairs. I picked myself up as Jackson came into view.
"Why is this guy here!" I demanded, waving my knife in the air.
"Troy, calm down,"Jackson said. "He's no longer possessed and hes actually a really cool guy. He agreed to help us."
I cautiously put my knife back in it's sheath. "I won't stab you," I told fire guy,"For now." I stuck out my hand,"Troy Legend."
He shook my hand warily. "Evan Hall."
I looked at Jackson, "I don't suppose you have anything to eat?"
"Sure. We can stop and grab something on the way."
"On the way to what?" I asked.
"Our next Superhuman. He's a man who can turn himself into any kind of material he wants."
"No way. There's already a bounty on our heads, and there's no telling when those guys will try to attack us again. No doubt there's probably one on Evan's head already. You really want to go out in public and make ourselves targets? Nuh-uh, no way."
"I'll let you order pizza,"Jackson said.
"When do we get started?" I said with a grin.
