Hurricane: Day 18, Part Two
I climbed slowly... My arm was still throbbing, but as each second passed it seemed to repair itself. By the time I had reached the second flight of stairs, it felt normal again. I gripped my sword, and kept climbing.
I finally reached the top, and found my friends still struggling against the other three men. I watched for a second, trying to form a plan. There were three of them, they all had some sort of power, and there was only one of me. If I went out there now, I would just get captured and be no help to anybody. I looked to the other side of the floor and saw an entrance to a bathroom. Thats when I got a ridiculous idea. I stepped out of the stairway and strode across the room like I was some kind of celebrity.
"Hey!" I said loudly.
Everyone kept fighting.
"HEY!" I yelled. That got everyones attention.
"There a problem kid?" The guy fighting Jackson said menacingly. He tossed an unconscious Jackson to the side.
"Yeah, there is," I said, puffing out my chest. "Of course you would be a coward and fight the one guy without powers."
He growled and stepped forward. "I could kill you with a flick of my hand." His entire body started to glow.
"Is that why it took you so long to finally knock him out?" I said, pointing at the unconscious Jackson. "Not to mention your weird friend over there went right for the girl. What kind of punk is he?"
The guy fighting Chloë slammed her into a wall. She collapsed to the floor. He strode over until he was side by side with the other guy.
"And your cowboy friend?" I continued, "Is pathetic. All hes done is choke that guy for the entire time, with a lasso. All three of you are pitiful if you ask me. The Cowboy guy dropped Evan, who was also unconscious, and strode over to his friends. I backed up to the bathrooms and kept talking.
"If you three weren't such pathetic wimps, I might actually suggest you fight me instead. Not that it would be much of a fight anyway.
The whirlpool symbol on my arm started to glow green under my sleeve. Then, the whirlpool symbol on my sword started to glow in correspondence. The pressure started to grow. I kept backing up to the bathrooms.
"We could kill you easily, you little-"
He never finished his sentence. I dove aside, as both of the bathroom doors flew off from the built up pressure in the bathroom. The doors slammed into the three men, and the torrent of water exploding out of the bathroom swept them off their feet. They were swept back to the middle of the room. I concentrated, and the water formed a giant circle around them, and lifted up off the floor. They were still inside, drowning. The symbol on my arm turned icy blue, and so did the symbol on my sword. I slammed my blade into the ground. It cleaved the tile like butter. Lines of frost spread out from the sword, and crept towards the giant bubble. The moment they touched, the bubble froze completely, leaving the three men trapped inside. Exhausted, I fell to my knees, then onto my side. I closed my eyes and drifted off...
