Day 9, Part One
Jackson stared at me with his mouth open..."You mean you have powers?"
It had been a day since I was in the hospital, and I had just explained to Jackson how I had been hit by lightning, and the weird thing that had happened in the forest and again at his house.
"Yeah, it's kind of complicated, but I think the lightning strike gave me them. Now, why were those guys after you?"
"They weren't after me, they were after something I recovered,"he said.
"...And what was it that you recovered?"I asked.
"I'll tell you after I give you what I owe you. Are you strong enough to walk yet?"
"Yeah, I can walk pretty far before I need to take a break," I said. "What is it you owe me?"

"Pizza," he said with a slow smile."I just ordered three boxes. Supreme, Meat Lovers, and Italian with olives. With a Pizza cookie. We have to stop by there to pick them up."
"THANK YOU DUDE!" I exclaimed. "You have no idea how hungry I am.
We walked into his garage and jumped into the Camaro.
"Um, whose going to drive, because I just turned 16, and I still have to take my final test to pass," I said.
"No worries, I passed mine last week," he said.
He slid into the drivers seat, and I got shotgun. We pulled out of the garage, and drove down the driveway. Just as we were about to hit the electric field, Jackson punched a button on his steering wheel, and it deactivated long enough for us to drive through. I looked back, and all I saw was an empty lot. We pulled onto a highway, and after 10 minutes, we pulled into the parking lot of Pizza Hut.
"I am here for a pickup please, I'm Mason Cage," Jackson said.
The girl behind the counter eyed him up for a minute, then said "I.D. please."
Jackson pulled out his wallet, then showed the girl a fake I.D. She reached under the counter, and grabbed 4 huge boxes. "Enjoy," she said.
As we walked out of the fast food store, I said,"Since when do you have Fake I.D's?"
"I made them last night, I figured they would come in handy."
I heard a twig crunch behind us. I looked back and saw two buff guys walking behind us casually. I had remembered seeing them sitting at the front of the restaurant, and they had left after we did.
"Don't look now, but we have two on us," I mumbled.
"OK, it's fine. We can lead them to a random place and confront them."
As we put the pizzas into the back seat, I saw one of the guy's draw a gun.
"Or we could just run now," I said.
We slammed our doors shut, and took off down the street...
