The Legend of Zelda: Intertwined Destinies. part 21

Link and Zelda departed from Ordon on horseback. They traveled a fair distance; and watched for signs of Lynette's captor. Though these events seldom end well, Zelda was optimistic that she'd rescue Lynette. She saw that Link seemed annoyed, the traveling might have tired him. - or was he offended that she included him in her promise to Kael without his discretion? If he's annoyed with me, I'm not sure why. ... I did the right thing didn't I? For now, she shrugged her concerns to watch the land. Viewing the forest was calming, for she saw how the plains turned to a forest, with trees that climbed higher than the ones they passed.

A loud sound was heard a ways from them, it sounded like a hollow drum was being beat in a steady tempo. The rapping came from a lumberjack, chopping at a tree thinner than he was. Zelda called to the man, "Excuse me sir,"
"Eh?" he snorted in response, he looked up and she saw a beard on his chin; at first she thought it was an animal. Then she asks, "Did you see anyone come through here?"
"Hmm... Y'know? someone just ran through here earlier. He was a fast fellow I'll tell you what. He was too far, but I think he carried a sack on his sholder." he curiously scratched his beard as he spoke.
"Which way did he go?" Zelda asks.
"About a quarter south by my reckoning." he pointed left from his house for them to see.
"I see, Thank you sir." she said to him before they rode off.
"Luck in your travels," he said to them. Leaving him to resume on his tree.

With nothing for them to discus, they rode in silence as before. She sat in bordom, and watched the landscape again. I'm certain Link must be bothered. If only he could just talk to me... "Link?" she nudged his shoulder. He turned to listen. "...I know this has made our plans more difficult," she spoke grimly. "I haven't forgotten why we're traveling like this, but... I'm not sure what to do. She's my friend." She sighed. "... I shouldn't make promises that I can't keep," She said tired. Link hummed in response. "Well... all that we can do now is search this forest for the day, and find shelter, but we still need to travel to the sanctuary." She concluded, Link nodded in agreement.

The trees started to look the same, but Zelda doubted that they were lost. No one has ever gotten lost in a straight line, she was sure. They spent hours traveling, and the sun was setting. She looked ahead of Link to see what was there. "Look up there Link," she saw a tall gate, and beyond it was a church that stood alone. "Do you think anyone is there?" she asks Link. He sat still without a response.

(I might've rushed this... If there's no typos, then there might be whacked out tenses. I'll be more objective for the next time though)
