Several inconsequential days later: The students were getting ready to have breakfast in the cafeteria when TV screens all across the rooms turned on.
Monokuma (TV Screen): May I have your attention? We have an important announcement waiting for you in the gymnasium! Hotfoot it over, double time, soldier!
The students went to the gymnasium.
Monokuma: Well, I'm afraid I gave you those lovely facilities too quickly, and you're actually satisfied here while searching for a way out. No, that won't do, not at all. *chuckle* Now I'll give you an incentive to want out of here ASAP! Please pick up the envelopes I lovingly marked with your names.
The students picked up the envelopes, wondering what nasty surprise the evil scheming bear had in store for them.
They were recent newspaper clippings or prints of online reports regarding the students.
Synyster Gates has been replaced by another guitarist in Seventh Revenge. "He went to Hope's Peak Academy and we didn't hear back from him, so I think he's done with us. We've brought in a new guitarist, hopefully he'll be as good."
Yukari Hirai's pending film roles have been given to other actresses as she failed to respond to studio requests after going to Hope's Peak Academy.
The academy gives utmost priority to its students' privacy, so no amiss happening is suspected.
Monokuma gave a huge grin.
Monokuma: YOU SEE!? You're not really this nation's hope! They replaced you in just a few days. And no one would expect this prestigious, reputable academy to confine you in the depths of horror and despair! No help is coming for you, you see for yourself! Daaahahaahahaa!
Now... will you try to get out and make sure the world doesn't forget you? Or are you content to live here with this despair pressing upon you!? Upupu, I'll leave you up to it. Byeeee~
With that, Monokuma disappeared, cackling hysterically.

With the lack of response from Riko Ogata, the world's various gas companies rejected her proposed oil alternative of using her recently bioengineered plants designed for the amount of biomass converged with less organic waste than other proposed alternatives. Instead they choose to instead stay with oil bought from OPEC. In other news oil prices increased by 12.6%.

Do you know how hard it is to change plant genes? Plant mutations are hard to come across and for it to effect only what you need to is practicality impossible. I had to give up my research of the sunflowers effects on nuclear radiation. Do you know what it'll mean if I discovered the reason? Chernobyl and other effected areas could be rehabilitate. We could remove radiation from people! You Monokuma are no cute and cuddly teddy bear you sir are a sociopathic grizzly!

Monokuma came pattering back into the room, bouncing on the soles of his feet and wearing a mischievous grin that told the students that he'd just had an evil idea.
