Favorite Mario and Luigi RPG???

Bowser's inside story, it's battles where really fun, and the story was interesting! Playing as big Bowser was my favorite part, and the last battle was one of my favorite boss battles in video game history! Mario and Luigi battles where jun too, with all those cool bro attacks!

I've never played a Mario and Luigi game, unfortunately. If I'm allowed to pick a Mario RPG then All Stars, but otherwise... am I really missing by not playing these? Are they really that good? =/

Yes they are

I actually have a spot in my heart for the M&L saga for being the games that introduced me to the RPG games in general (my overall favourite video game genre)

I said that my favourite is PIT, but they are all amazing (I haven't played Paper Jam yet, but I have heard that is very good)

Can I start anywhere? Or do I really have to pick the first one to try them out? I get a bit discouraged when I have like a series of multiple games I have to play before getting the newest one XD But I don't like plot holes either -_-

You can really start anywhere, the stories have kinda a timeline (which is the release dates), but it doesn't really matter other than a few easter eggs.

I would reccomend you to play them in release date order (so those little easter eggs make sense)

- Mario & Luigi Bowser Inside Story (DS)
- Mario & Luigi Dream Team (Dream Team Bros in Europe) (3DS

The first 2 are in the Wii U virtual console btw, not sure about BIS tho

I have to say Mario and Luigi Partners in Time. Mainly because the only other one I've played is Superstar Saga and that game had easier battles than PiT but it had certain frustrating parts mainly the part where you escort Peach and you have to keep her from hitting enemies and at the same time you need Luigi in a barrel so Mario can hit a button that opens a gate. Sure Superstar had minigames PiT didn't have but PiT I could complete no problem up until the first final boss which I have never beaten because it's hard to concentrate which laser is on which brother and whether you need to jump or not in a short period of time. Also PiT had better worlds/music imo.

Mine is definitely Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time! I liked the babies mechanic, and the Shroobs are amazing antagonists! This was also the most challenging one for me when I first played it, I really can't remember how many times I had to fight Elder Princess Shroob until I finally beat her xD For my second favorites, I just have to chose both Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story, both have features that I really like so I can't chose which is better >w<

Mario and Luigi Partners in Time. It was such a good game. And Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser looked so cute as babies. ;-; The story was pretty good too, as well as the battle system. ( ´ ▽ ` )

Bowser's Inside Story, my boi! First Mario & Luigi game I've ever played, and became infatuated with the series immediately afterwards. Something particularly about M&L:IS's plot, characters, dialogue, and diverse enemies that drew me in.

The favorite Mario and Luigi RPG game I have played would be Mario and Luigi super star saga and I will tell you the three reasons why. One, I grew up with the game. Two, I love Mario and Luigi games. And third, it was the only Mario and Luigi RPG game I had my whole life.

Partners in Time was my first M&L game, and I positively LOVED it.

The dialogue was really funny, the battle system was unlike any I had seen up until then, and the different characters like Professor E. Gadd and Toadsworth receiving attention was excellent <3

My personal favorite is Super Star Saga because the reason it's my favorite is because there are multiple things in this game that simply aren't present in any of the series' later installments for instance,the Bros Attacks are unlocked not through tedious gathering of all the pieces of the Bros Attacks, but through gathering abilities to progress in the overworld as the Bros Attacks feel like the next logical step from the abilities you unlock to traverse the overworld.

Favorite: Super Paper Mario. While it might not be perfect gameplay-wise (and I will concede that. It has its flaws and even a potentially game-breaking glitch) it has a (IMO) perfect plot. I love all the villains and Francis, it's the only Mario RPG that takes the hero far away from the very planet his world is on (the farthest he got anywhere else is the moon in TTYD. Though I don't know about SMRPG since I haven't beaten that game, correct me if I'm wrong) and the story is scaled big enough to fit a truly interdimensional adventure. I believe if Super Paper Mario had played like TTYD it would have been by far the best-received Mario RPG.
