Or if you don't want to cheat, you can just go to the island and catch beetles,but don't bother with those cheap beetles, like saw stags, those tweezer beetle things, etc. Just get something that is 7000-8000+.
(P.S. i you want to dupe bells dupe crowns once you get one. They are worth 250,000 each and is worth more than 99,000 for an item slot.)

The way I get bells is by gathering my perfect cherries and selling them to another town that does not have cherries as there native fruit

Someone might have said this but I go to the island.
I catch lots of bugs usually for 10-15 mins
Then I come back with a bag of loot
