Are you going to get Pokémon Shuffle

  • Nope, too cute/too much of a rip-off. Not worth my sd-card space.

But what about people with very bad internet?
To be honest, I think Nintendo'd just say, "Well, too bad for you mate."

Or maybe an in-game timer, League of Heroes had one.

I think they would pick an ingame timer then, though inter is not unlikely because they want you to make micro/transactions which require internet. But I hope they´ll use the 3ds internal time.

Of course i want to play this game ^_^ Free stuff, after all and all those micro transactions aren't all that bad, if you keep a cool head you won't be lured in.

I think I'll skip this game.
Not because of the art or the gameplay, but simply because micro-transactions. Sure, it's good to get free stuff, but to be honest, I'd rather pay for a game than having a "free" game that features micro-transactions. And we all know how this kind of system ends.

So, yes, I was kind of happy to see a new Pokémon game, but that micro-transaction system made my interest level reach new depths.

Also, I bet that in a few weeks/month, we'll all hear "Nintendo forced to refund parents because of children spending money in Pokémon Shuffle". Mark my words, because I know it'll happen at one moment.

I agree with you so much. Micro-transactions kill a lot of things and if Nintendo is releasing something for free *cough* it better be free and not a bunch of micro-transactions to buy more "energy or lives" I agree that they want to make profit, but advertising it as free should actually mean free.

I'm fine with micro transactions but what if just maybe the payment is the pedometer coin thing that could get everyone walking a lot, assuming everyone doesn't shake their 3ds and it goes flying into a wall :/

The payment has been confirmed to be real money. Otherwise they wouldn't use a disgusting term like 'microtransactions.'

Good News! Nintendo was early with its release (Not kidding!) aaaand I already got Pokémon Shuffle! It was in the eShop, yay! Nintendo releasing a game 10 days early? In Europe?! I am wondering whether it was released per mistake, but who cares? I don't know about the NA region but for the EU users; get it now! :D

I tested the timer trick, @Spinnerweb was right the game as an internal timer. :( But it's fun to play, really colourful and great for the casual gamer. The waiting time until your lifegauge refills is 25 minutes which is okay with me honestly. Just by playing a hard level you'd easily spend 10-15 minutes so the waiting time will only bother the real addicts. You can buy five new lives using jewels. Jewels can bought with micro-transactions (no surprise) butbutbutbuuut (jup I'm excited) can also be won in-game! You can also use jewels to buy coins which in turn can buy you neat bonuses like an Exp.-multiplier. The coins can also be won in battles. So far I won 100 coins every battle.

My experience so far: You start your adventure in a little colourful town called Puerto Blanco. The first five levels are really easy and filled with tutorial-talk of someone who calls herself a reporter. (I already forgot her name.) The music is shooting and exciting at the same time. A bit of Pokémon-Spain it appears. While the game is not hard to win it is hard to catch the Pokémon. You get a certain catch-rate for finishing the level and a greatly needed bonus for every move you've got left. There is a fool-proof way to secure you a sweet Pokémon but I'd be ruining the tutorial.

Things yet to be discovered: The game features Streetpass. I wonder how that will be used/ well only one way of finding out! There is also some talk about a server check-in for bonuses but it is not available yet...

UPDATE:
  • When you check in with the server you get a neat check in bonus (the game-makers sure love bonuses). I got 500 coins! They also hinted about bonuscontent and events. And the first event is here already!
  • Also there is a special event; these three weeks you can battle Mew!
  • News on the jewels: You can (supposedly) also get them with a download code (there is a download code button) and not so surprising; the jewels are waaaay overpriced. 0.99 euro for just one jewel! On the upside, I plaed only 10 levels and already got 2 free jewels. Another eye-catching jewel feature; there is a maximum you can spend on jewels per month, set on 100.00 euro. That is, of course, a ridiculous lot but why is here a limit? What is the reason? Hmmm...
Also; here's a more profesional review (booooring :p ): http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-02-18-nintendos-free-to-play-pokemon-shuffle-launches

I made a thread about all the check in stuff ;) I got the game as well and it seems that they give you enought jewels to go through all the lvls without buying them, but you may have to wait if you want to replay a lvl.

i personally love the game (playing right now, in fact) and i think it is a fun take on pkmn trozei, with new mechanics, and even a connection with the eshop for extra lives and bonuses :cat:

I honestly love the game, however I hate the pointless time waits for it. They are only added to pressure people into spending money so they can play faster. I played the one that came out last year for hours on end at a time, with this one I'm stuck waiting until my hearts fill back up. It's very annoying and I wish I could just " buy" the full game so I wouldn't have to deal with the waits. There's a good game there, but annoying waits don't set well with me.

Maybe Nintendo intended this so that people wouldn't play to much and maybe it was intended as something extra to play when people are bored . I too don't like this thing to wait but at least it is a free game and It's something quite rare for something to be free by Nintendo :dead: . Cuz anything free nintendo software always has some sort of catch .......always:stop:

i actually kind of like the waits because they keep me from playing it nonstop, letting me do stuff like, for example, telling people why i like the waits ;)

No that's is not it. lol Nintendo has put out other F2P games already, but so far none of them bother me until now. It was not intended to be a freebie for our sake it was meant to make money just like their other F2P games . This is no different than playing F2P games on mobile. Any free software has a catch, it's just up to you to decided if you can make it without spending or if you feel that the product is worth spending for.

Nope you don't get enough, first of all you will not catch all pokémon the first time and secondly you seem to get a bit less than one jewel per 10 levels so you can almost make it but, well, almost make it. But you've got an NA 3ds right? So they released the game there too!

yea it is not exact but it is about enough. Yes they released it in NA :D the game is quite good (I actually like the time wait thing or else i might play to much :p) but in general the game is quite awesome.

I've been playing this for a few days now and am addicted, love it so far. They kinda do throw the whole "PAY PLZ" stuff at you very fast but it's charming enough for me to look past that. I haven't paid and never will pay, but can get through a lot. Plus, I can check my 3DS daily and play a few games - and I completed the first Special stage with Mew on my 2nd go and caught her. Although, the Expert challenges look ridiculously hard so I'm excited to go for those (the time limits are what get me).

The core game is fun, but the microtransactions are flat out disgusting. The number of popups and messages that need cash are really quite annoying.

I downloaded it from the e shop yesterday since i think i need a match making game to play in my free time and not play the same game over and over again.I think that the jewels are hard to get and for some beginners they shouldn't waste them.
