from pokemon my favorite character would have to be Red as he is more serious to something, and is pretty cool, Ash is okay but i liked Red better and that was only from reading Pokemon Adventure:) Pokemon origins was epic too:cool: I really enjoyed that

but when it comes to skills who would win? Red has become the champion but hasn't traveled other regions like Ash? But Reds Pokemon stay strong but Ash becomes weak after going in to another region and will stay 10 forever while Red actually gets older.

I'm going with Red on this one, Ash might get mega evolution from going to Kalos, but has also achieved that in Pokemon Origins ( Mega Charizard X:cool:)

What do you think?

Pfft..Ash's Pikachu lost to a Untrained lvl5 Snivy. Ash is the worst trainer ever. Red will smoke that fool.

Yyyyeeeaaaahhhhhh..... This one goes to Red (Adventures one as I haven't seen Origins). While I don't hate Ash (I'm a positive guy), thing is the guy never wins when it counts. He at the most beats his rival so we can say "Yay Ash finally beat the guy after losing every other battle between them, surely this means he's gonna win the tournament!" and then the guy who debuted at the beginning of the tournament comes in and puts Ash in his place. While I hope this trend ends in XY, this thread is taking Ash and Red as they are now and frankly, it's a guy who frequently loses when he shouldn't verses someone who almost EVERYONE regards as the strongest trainer. So yeah, Red wins.

Red will win no contest

Is this even a question of course RED will be the winner of that battle and thats only if Red accepts a challenge from Ash's cute ugly azz ^^ lol J/K but RED is much better at traing pokemon so it makes sense dont you think :D:cool::p:D

Obviously Red, as he is actually a trainer.

Ash is just a character designed to make money off by keeping him the main protagonist.. he keeps low level pokemon and gets lucky a lot, in the original season he only legitimately won ONE badge the other seven were given to him through some other story driven reason. Says it all really.

I thinl ash will win .as we can see that ash had travelled trough many regions, like kanto, johto and kalos now. But red only at kanto.so the difference of their experience in pokemon battles.ash definitely win it!

Is this a rhetorical question? I'm pretty sure it is. The manga is way more serious than the anime. Even in game information would tell you not just anyone can be able to beat Red.

Ash only travels around reigons, which isn't bad, but like @Jahfoolie said, he keeps low-level pokemon. If you ever noticed, Ash BARELY evolves his pokemon. He get's really lucky too, also like @Jahfoolie said. I've watched the anime and it's almost always Ash and the Gym Leader only have one Pokemon left and both Pokemon are about to faint. Now, I can understand why the directors of the anime did it. Probably for excitement for the younger audience. I can't really understand why his partners call him "amazing" or "you did great!" cuz he didn't really earn it, just got lucky. Red, on the other hand, is a REAL trainer.

Red went through a whole journey across Kanto BY HIMSELF and he is the same age as Ash (10 years). He got all his gym badges, like a Trainer should. During his journey, he ran into Team Rocket, defeating the grunts easily. He then went to the last gym, only to find Giovanni, which he had encountered 2 times before and got beaten both times, as a gym leader. He defeated Giovanni and Giovanni decides to leave Team Rocket. Team Rocket then disbands forever. He continues his journey to the Elite Four. Beats them. He goes to the champion and beats him. He is the champion of Kanto. Traveling by himself, defeats Giovanni THREE TIMES, and becomes the champion. Red is better PERIOD.

well red will win because ash keeps very low leveled pokemon and gets beaten by a beginner at the STARTING of another region even at that experience he should be able to wipe out the entire region easily and when talking of red well he defeated everyone and if red battles ash when ash has all the pokemon he captured and red has only 6 main pokemon then also red will win

I say red will win because, ash doesn't evolve all his pokemon which limits some moves, his pikachu's level always resets so it will be hard for him to keep up, and red heated the elite four but ash didn't even beat a single one in the regions he had traveled to. Red has a lot of pokemon that are already evolved so he can harness their real power, red's pikachu doesn't reset and I think it knows surf or something, and red has beat the elite four and his rival multiple times but ash doesn't beat Gary or his other rival often

Ash. Ash. ASH!!! The most ridiculous Pokemon trainer by far! I can't count how many times he's met a legendary/ 1 god and blew away the chance or thought of catching one then in the next episode or movie you see some kinda background character using it. At least Red would consider catching it. Man if they made some kind of special for ash v. Red they best be making it factually correct or imma have to smack somebody.

I say Ash would actually win a Pokemon battle. Ash is actually a pretty good trainer. He's pretty experienced from traveling all over the Pokemon World, and has trust in Pokemon. His Pokemon actually believe in him :singing:.

Red Will Win since he's the character played by a human and since ash act automatically it's like you were in the game and you was battling ash in the future programmed games and put him as a gym leader and after beat him it's the same way to be easy for hackers to beat ash with hacked pokemon.

As much as I would love to immediately say Red would win no competition, I think it would be best to take a step back and look not at Ash but rather his pokemon and the team he would use if he was actually smart.

Pikachu- This one is an obvious choice. At its full power, it has gone head to head with some powerful pokemon and won.

Charizard- Another one of the most obvious choices for his team. Many people consider it to be Ash's strongest pokemon, and after a lot of intense training, we see an immense amount of power being brought out. As far as I know, we have not seen Charizard's ability, blaze, used, but if this was brought out then his power level would be over 9000!

Infernape- Speaking of blaze, this guy would claim another spot on Ash's team. Despie the similar typing to Charizard, the amount of power with blaze secures his spot. Also, on a sidenote, I read that Infernape has only lost 1 known battle since being evolved.

Sceptile- With a signature leaf blade, we have seen Sceptile sweep through much of his competition. In an epic battle, Sceptile managed to defeat a darkrai that swept every other team of some of the strongest trainers in the Sinnoh league. This alone should get him on this elite team, considering he is one of three of Ash's pokemon to defeat a legendary.

Heracross- Ever since Ash met Heracross, we have seen him as a powerful pokemon that can hold its own in battle. Heracross has access to many powerful moves and can use them to hit hard.

Krookodile- With a great, diverse moveset that hits supereffective on many different pokemon, Krookodile takes the final spot on Ash's team. Also the second user of sunglasses that Ash owns.

I like to think that Ash would have a decent chance in the battle, and red could still win. it would be a fun battle to see!

Ash. Because he has Pikachu! Pika pika :giggle:

Honestly, what other Pokemon could you want? I caught my wild, gentle Pikachu in Pokemon X as a delicate little thing and now he's the most formidable Pokemon I have :cat:

Also, Ash is more iconic (here anyway) so the kids would be rooting for him. :)

As much as I'd love to say Red, I'll have to reluctantly say Ash just because of some of the 360 noscope <censored> Ash pulls out of his <censored> during battles that makes him win.

Red! Ash never learned how to grow up.But if you have read the Pokemon Adventures manga you have seen the changes between Red in the RBG series and FRLG series.Hes much stronger. And he actually knows what the meaning of evolving a Pokemon means.Ash barely evolves a Pokemon.Unlike Red,Ash didn't even win his Gym badges properly. But,Red did.

Red! Ash can never ever top red. Ash only travels around all the regions but his pikachu can't even beat a level 5 snivy! And red he leveled up his Pokemon seriously and he also got all the gym badges properly unlike ash. I really hate ash! And I don't even know why I hate ash.
