Sorry I just listed two of the pokemon ash had that were good I didn't look at comparing the typing.
Anyways ash has BETTER pokemon than red(unless we count manga),MORE EXPERIENCE,and both have access to tms and move tutor. The only difference is ash isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer...

He's always losing to gym leaders his first try. Being clever can be what makes red win. Ash has great pokemon but i dont think they can best reds

Gible decimates Pikachu, ashs Pikachu wipes out blastoise,Lapras,and Charizard,Infernape wipes out Venusaur,and his frogadier takes care of espeon.

Definately Red. Ash's pikachu should technically be level 100 by now. but he always ends up losing at some point or another, to some weak trainer, everytime he heads to a new region. It's ridiculous! Besides, Red is just plain cool.

Cool and losing to a level 5 snivy because 99.9% of its power was drained does not mean red would win.
