Expanding on that, shin Megami tensei took a long time to come to the west because of religious controversy. A game doesn't define who you are. Tarot cards and demons? As long as you don't think "oh my god I want this" you don't care. It's minor. It's a reference to the real world. Smt is based around mythology and demons and the flaws of human society. I understand some people can't handle it, but don't belittle something because there's a controversial thing in it. It's culture. Not some 'reform to the devil' movement.

Let's face it, Mara is the real reason why SMT games get a Mature rating, in other SMT forums, it has become a meme that "M stands for Mara" xD.

But, seriously, no, a 13-year old should not be playing games in this series, other than Persona, at least until they can fully differentiate the game's philosophy from the real world's, and can completely comprehend that the crazy plots and religious motifs from the series are only there for entertainment

Not exactly NO 13 year old... I started SMT at 13 and fully understood the themes. It's dark yes. But if someone is mature enough they'll see beyond the surface

I dont think id have a problem with it, im not religous after all, it probably wont affect my mind. I probably going to buy it, it looks really cool and probably really fun to play. Overall after watching a bit of playthrouhg videos of it, I came to conclude this is an "adult" version of pokemon.

No. Pokémon is far from it. This is the perfection of dark story telling baring the flaws of being human.

Think about it, letting demons be your allies, free roam, and rpg. Especially the demons part, ot is kind of like pokemon, yes it dark, but I said adult. Its not bright like pokemon, but still, it does have its similarities and differences. I still think this is an adult version of it. The dark theme actually proves its more adult.

It's weird how Shin Megami Tensei games are mostly rated M. Sure, the game isn't exactly for little kids, but an M seems a bit too far. It's even rated PEGI 12 in Europe, which is usually the equivelant to T/E10+. :unsure:

Its maybe because of the suits, because the girls have bikinis and not have much cloths on and maybe because of some themes. I think teen would be much better though, its really not that bad. I plan on getting this game though, even though it may be suggestive because its really not that bad. If you are over 13, I think it should be fine

I mean games like Persona 4 have some strong language and a sexual dungeon but that's about it. Bikinis are just swim wear. I still understand why it's M. I can handle but immature children just annoy me

Yeah, just be mature and I guess it should be fine, that's why its rated mature, as long as your mature in some things, it should be fine
