Hey guys! Thank you again for participating in this contest! I really didn't think that we would have this many entries! It's really heart warming. Anyway, it's time to go over a few things.
First, the bad news. I really screwed up, guys. So yesterday, I was looking through all the entries with my nephew. I asked him to tell me what he though of them. Anyway, Long story short, my nephew used the Kid Icarus Uprising code without my knowing. I tried to obtain more CN coins so I could get another code but it's not an easy job to get 700 coins just like that. I am truly sorry to anyone that was aiming for that prize. I hope this doesn't cause you to withdraw from the competition. I really thought I could trust him as I he helped me with past contests on other sites. I still am hurt by it, to be honest. I guess it's my fault, though. He is still young and he didn't have the game yet. I suppose it was just a window of opportunity for him. Anyway, I will try to find something that can make up for this lost. I really feel bad about it. Again, I am truly sorry.

On another note, I would as like to know about how you guys want this contest to be judged. Do you want it to be judged by only me, the people in the contest, or all members of 3DSpedia? Let me know if you can. Also, I want you guys to know that the due date for submissions has been officially extended to March 10, 2015. I figured that should give new contestants as well as the old to get there final entries in on time. That's all for now. See you guys later!
That stuff can happen. It's okay. As for the judging process, I think the most fair way to judge would be by a panel of judges that did not compete. So just ask some people who didn't enter if they would like to be judge. ;) Btw, how long is the extension period?

Thanks for being so understanding and the extension period is 9 days! I also updated the main post so more people can know.

Yay! I might add some stuff then.:)(Just some illustrations to explain a few concepts of the game, nothing too big)

My entry, I don't have any software painting thing and I use a MacBook Pro, so don't judge me.3ds_box_art_template_by_omegaaaronyt-d6inshw.png
This might not look like much but it did take a while with the limitations of the standard Mac photo editing tool

Wow, I'm pretty lucky that you did that extention, I completely forgot what with my entries in other contests, trying to get Minecraft to work on my Chromebook, and building a bridge(long story, please don't ask). Now I can actually finish! In fact, I'll get going on it right now. Talk to ya later!

Okay. It was a horrible lot of work to get it all right but I'm pretty proud of the final result. I made this:

The guy was a lot of work! Couldn't get him sitting in the right position without looking like an alien. As you can see it's a game I made up. :D It's (of course) about the time travellers-paradox. (And a bit quantum mechanics a la Virtues Last Reward).

The game would have multiple 'endings' (which would in turn be beginnings too) and revolves about collecting clues about the different time-lines you travel trough. With time travel your past changes so your character will have amnesia, double fake memories and vision of futures that may or may not happen. His or her personality slowly develops and of course there'll be some philosophy too. The clues are seemingly unrelated pieces from all sort of diaries (are they all yours? Or are they written by others? What do they mean?) which can give you hints about what is actually going on in the game. There is no real bad guy-good guy set up in this game because as you move trough the game it is revealed that people can change completely depending on their surrounding or if they meet the right person. The game would be both puzzle and action but which one you encounter more depends on your playstyle. If you choose to evade the action the first couple of times the game will make a puzzle out of itself, if you go blindly killing everything you will end up in a spiral of violence. With multiple playthroughs you could get all ending/beginnings.

I got an idea, a storyline and a nice cover, now I need a developers team! :p
Because I drew everything myself I cannot provide separate pieces but I made a couple of saves in between which I can upload if you like.
I worked with sumopaint. I used (the templates for the rating, nintendo network and 3ds cover), a font that I once encountered, a nice photograph of some stars (which I completely modified and edited the colours of) and a lot of creativity.
.

I made a rough draft of what a diary page could look like. (The rendering didn't go exactly the way I want because my laptop is very slow but I figured I'd post it anyway)

I also thought a bit more about the game itself.
A diary related feature of the game:
After you unlock a certain amount of endings/beginnings you might meet other travellers. Some might be stuck, whether you can and are willing to help them will change the story. If you help them out, will you partner up? Will this person answer your questions? Or deceive you?

Another feature would be that while the game would not have a typical 'bad guy' you're neither limited to the typical 'hero' role. The game is, after all, also about changing morality and the thin and blurry line between good and evil. The game will not protect you for mistakes (No "Are you sure?" or the like) so it will feel as truly your choices and paths.

Wow! I am going to have to get into coding again. Your idea is so cool! Give it to Nintendo! It's well thought out and it seems like you have an idea where you want the game to head. Bravo!

Thanks. :D I doubt that Nintendo would be too interested, they're still busy with all their remakes and old franchises. But there is a developers forum/kit for the Wii U so I might try that. Though it seems to be better as an handheld game. (I really need to learn how to code! :p The previous time I gave up too quickly.) All the while I also have school so it'll probably have to wait until the summer holidays. And I've never made a game before... I am great with coming up with ideas, making artwork, studying mechanics for the game or making up a story but getting it all to work is a whole different skill.

okay here goes nothing
HNI_0064.jpg

and just so you don't say i didn't put any effort on it, i'll tell you what i did: i borrowed a blue bed sheet with Mi Madre and went all over the neighborhood asking if they had a blue bedroom i could take a photo in, after 6 "no sorry", 14 doors in the face, and 4 blocks walked i found one, but the bed was in the middle of the room, the woman in the house allowed me to move it if i place it back when i'm done, and that's what i did, kupo

You know the art on the box of a 3ds game? That's box art. It's quite simple. Just look at what other have submitted for examples. ;)
