The Nintendo 2DS. Can you believe it?

I thought the same, but after trying a GBA emulator on my tablet with a similar button layout, its actually not really uncomfortable.

I really do need to try this out personally, hopefully gamestop will set up a demo station.

They should. But come one, Nintendo has been making handhelds for almost 2 decades now, I don't think they would release one without ensuring that its comfortable.

Plus I get the feeling that this console is also targeting Pokemon players that will want to get both Pokemon X and Pokemon Y and will need a 2nd console to trade between the two games.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to trade with a friend then to buy a another handheld?

Not all gamers have friends they can trade Pokemon with :p

You're misunderstanding the article, by one screen it means one large touchscreen that is separated by the cover in the front. So it has 2 screens still that are fully functional.

This point can definitely get confusing. Basically, its a single touch screen. But as you've said, it has been separated to emulate the two screens of the 3DS, with the lower one retaining its touch screen aspect, and the top one being covered with a glass to inhibit it.

So, I think that both opinions are right to an extent.

Well, with that point of view (of a lot of people), if I put a plastic separator bar on my TV, i will get double screen :rotfl:

The single screen is only viewed in two sections, Hence the "2" in 2DS. :)

Not everyone is friendly. :)

Not everyone can afford one.

And the last one: Not everyone like videogames.

The end is here... Not all gamers have born yet.

Well, another end: Not all the people want to have kids...

There's only one end this story. The end of the world is nearing.

a Regular 3DS is available for $149 while the 2DS retails for $129, I think the $20 extra is a better investment. I have nothing against the 2DS but it deserves to be priced around at $100 or below.

Nintendo will probably lower the price in the future for the 2DS. I don't know if they're low on money or their just doing this so... the people who couldn't buy the 3DS in fear of eye problems could get a 3ds...when in fact you can just turn off the "3D" feature off

They aren't short on cash so that is not a valid conclusion, the thing is this is a smart move on Nintendo because it is offering a cheaper console directly aimed for younger children who don't or can't use the 3D function. Sure you can turn if off, but wouldn't one want to have the choice to not buy that function?
