What is your town's native fruit?

I have apples as my native fruit. I remember back in City Folk that your friend's non-native fruit was worth five times what your native fruit was with. This made your friends towns extremely lucrative bell-generation machines. Does anyone know if this is still the case for New Leaf? I've never tried it out...
