Charizard @ charizardite x
Jolly
Tough claws
252 atk & spd, 4 hp
Flare blitz
Earthquake
Dragon claw
Dragon dance

Flarr blitz is a OHKO unboosted, and breloom is outped even on the evolving turn. Mach pumch isn't enough to OHKO, even at +2.

How does this actually counter the Charizard? What if he doesn't Mega-Evo and you transform into a regular Charizard. You're pretty screwed in that scenario.

I leave Los Angeles and sto[p getting notifications... Tis this nonsense?!?!?!?

Ditto is actually a very appropriate check to a lot of Pokemon because they aren't typically able to handle themselves, but it should be noted that this Ditto is only an appropriate check to this Charizard and not a counter, as Ditto, too, doesn't like that crit EQ.

Here's the best possible Ditto counter and a personal favorite...

Zoroark @ Choice Specs

Lets play a game!!

How to play:

I will post a Pokémon set, and the next person will post a Pokémon that can counter that set 100% of the time, and next post will counter that Pokémon

Example:
talonflame.gif

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Will-O-Wisp
- Swords Dance
- Roost

Gets countered by

heatran.gif

Heatran @ Power Herb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Stone Edge
- Solar Beam

Gets countered by

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 56 HP / 220 Atk / 232 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance

And so on

(Yes I know that this could be in "Fun & Games", but IMO this fits better in Competitive Pokémon play)

Also to make the thread look prettier, use these ;)
http://www.pokestadium.com/tools/sprites
http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/teambuilder

And this app helps you find counters to certain Pokemon easily

Anyways lets do this, I will start

cloyster.gif

Cloyster @ Focus Sash
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear

landorus - therian@ leftovers
ability:intimidate
EVs:56 HP/220 ATK/SPE 232
Adamant nature
-earth quake
-stone edge
-rock polish
-swords dance

First off, you loss every time. A lot of your evs are wasted, the scarf doesn't allow you to outspeed any charizard form, and, as @dilawer poited out, there's no assuring you get mega x. If you swap into it with ditto before it mega evolves, you will get basic charizard instead of mega. And even if you do swap in after the mega evolve, you still run the risk of taking a dragon claw to the face, which will cause a ko.

You don't really know how transform works... right?

A Choice Scarf Ditto will outspeed any Charizard form, Transform copies all the stats except for HP

Also, if Ditto switchs in and transforms into normal Charizard, is easier for him to beat Charizard X, since is not weak to Dragon nor Ground, while X is weak to these two types

Is still not a real counter, but rather an SSI Check

and for @Samuel_1802 , the best EVs Spread for Ditto is 248HP/252Def/ 8 everywhere else and a Relaxed Nature and 0IVs on speed, this allows you to get minimun damage for Spikes and Stealth Rocks, while gives you the chance to beat 1v1 other Dittos with struggle

  • #230
Even so, more than likely, he'll switch it in before dragon dance is used. I don't really know how much stat boosts are worth, but I think +1 speed would nullify the bonus from choice scarf. Therefore, it doesn't help all that much.

Why invest in Defense though?

EDIT: Oh I see, didn't notice the last bit at first. Makes sense

That's exactly why is an SSI check, not a counter

Only really a check: if I decide to forego confusing it, it will die before it can do enough to ninetales. That's assuming sun is out, though.

Assuming sun is out, it will still survive any of your attacks and then just alternate between Surf and Synthesis (which only heals more under the sun), while at some point Salac Berry will kick in and outspeed you only to KO you! Also, don't forget you have no way of healing!

Those are super specific and situational counters, and that Own Tempo one is rather funny tbh, but they work, I like it.... Here's how I answer your Luda:

togekiss.gif

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 240 SpD / 16 Spe
Calm Nature
- Fire Blast / (Baton Pass)
- Nasty Plot
- Roost
- Air Slash

Welcome back, Tho.

Oh, forgot about the healing. Still feels like a coin toss, though. Even though you with have a head start with fake out, your outsped untill salac kicks in, which shouldn't happen because heat wave is 55-67% in one hit. Surf is only 43-52%, so it only 2HKOs about 1/8 of the time. You'd have to use synthisis on every turn, and I think heat wave has more pp than it, so it's a loseing battle.

That took too long to explain.
