Emulators or no?

Yeah if it shutdown many people would complain or rage or something so it will not shut down any time soon unless they have a new generation for consoles or they could add Miiverse to a new console xD.
Why would they add Miiverse to another console now? They've already got it for both the Wii U and the 3DS. Heck, they've even got it for PC. Miiverse, if it's to be expanded, won't be expanding platforms for a looong time

It is what it is. Nintendo realistically can't stop stupidity no matter how hard they try. I doubt Miiverse is about to be shut down anytime soon though

Yes, there is definitely idiots everywhere. For example, yesterday, before sleeping, I just reported a guy for a post who had content unsuitable.

If they shut down Miiverse, then, I'll be a part of those guys who would rage.

yeah, people just like abusing freedom of speech and it's hard to stop the trolls.

Miiverse is legit so I do hope that it won't be disabled anytime soon....

Yes, but this time it contained that kind of thing who is 18+. In the Pokemon Community, so, about a good 65% of the 3DS Miiverse users going there, that may shock minors.

But sure that would be a shame if it would be stopped because of trolls or bad intentioned people.

I'm not surprised that people did that. I think that with Miiverse Nintendo may be able to exercise better control over it by just blocking certain consoles from the thing altogether given the posts aren't seen by just one person like Swapnote

Yes. That's true. By the way, I have also seen a message by Nanamine getting removed as well as her signature for a while by an admin. Actually, I haven't got any warning. But in the same time, I don't post my FC, neither post bad content !

well, it's good that they have admins keeping track of Miiverse. That was where Swapnote fell short. As long as Nintendo continues having people monitoring then the impact will be less

That's sure. All versions (browser, WiiU and 3DS) have admins, and the communities are awesome ! (Even if I mainly stay with the Pokemon X/Y one.) Go Nintendo, ban all the bad guys, so, let's make a safe NNetwork !

lol problem is though that the banning may actually promote more trolls to come in (you know, it's kinda like Minecraft in which you've got grief teams griefing around just to troll players). But in general it was definitely a smart move on Nintendo's part

I would apply one logic to this: The More to Come and Troll, The More is Going Out.
That would be definitely what Nintendo would do. Too much trolls, and their NN accounts' are off for a good while !

Do keep in mind that a) there's no way they'll be able to find ALL the trolls the moment they start trolling, b) even if their Nintendo Network accounts are disabled, they could always choose to get a new system or something and troll some more. That's what MinnesotaBurns does with Xbox multiplayer

Didn't know about that gamer... But, seriously, if they would spent 150€ on a 3DS again, then, it means that they're more idiot than what they looks like !

not necessarily. In the case of MinnesotaBurns, he ends up making a lot of revenue from making the YouTube videos of him trolling players on Call of Duty multiplayer, so actually it's possible to make a living out of it

Yes, but there should be limits too. Too much troll kill the troll.

Well, perhaps there's limits, but if you can make entertainment out of it, it's entirely possible to do this. Anyway, we're a bit off topic from the original post ("emulators or no") :p

We're totally off-topic ! :D Anyways, I'm gonna use an emulator for now, so I could experiment my Silver hack !

Emulators are definitely the way to go when it comes to hacks. It'd be stupid to try manipulating with a legit copy because of all the problems and crashes you may experience

  • #118
No, but just revamping the Silver game, so it would be another experience, but more likely as a challenge !

well, it's still a hack all the same, so emulator is the best to go so that you don't end up accidentally modifying a legit cartridge/game system in a way that you don't want to :p

Ah, you meant like this ? Anyways, bootlegs cartridges (hacked games in real cartridge) are way too illegal and bad for the user who just wanted to play the original games.
