Quick Balls only work on the first turn though, right?I don't use them that often, if ever. For roaming 'mons, I just use pokemon with trapping abilities at the front of my party, then throw quick balls 'til it's caught. (Quick balls have like a 4 or 8x catch rate, I forget which).
That;s why it's advisable to ALWAYS save before fighting a Legendary, no matter how easy it might seem to catch. I hear it's easy to make Deoxys faint in OR/AS, so a guaranteed capture eliminates the pressure of having to bring it to a low level without it fainting.
I still haven't used mine yet. I'm so afraid of using it on the wrong pokémon that I sort of just let it sit there... >_>
You actually don't have to press Start+Select while soft resetting L+R+Start or select, also, if you suspect if you are gonna run into a legendary soon, it doesn't hurt to save every couple of steps. It's a process called soft-resetting which also helps when trying to get a Shiny legendary Pokemon.
.....................................................Are you serious? .-.I used my master ball on a magickarp. I wanted to confirm if it could actually catch any pokemon. Turns out it can! Only problem is that I don't have one now...
