"As long as the path leads to drinks, I'm all for it!"

Lara began to suspect she had a drinking problem, but set aside this nagging thought as she joined Ayros

Ayros turned to Lara and decided to make a confession.

"I've never tasted alchohol," Ayros said with a sigh.

Lara patted Ayros sympathetically. "Probably for the best, unless you want to drown out bad memories or lose that girlfriend of yours. Besides, it means more for me!"

"Hey, who said I wasn't gonna try it?" Ayros asked with a laugh, "Besides, there's really no good reason to stay with my girlfriend," he said. This was something he had been mulling over since he fell down the hole into this new complex. Would he ever find out about it? That was the question.

"I find it hard to believe you're just gonna abandon her so quickly after that intense make out session on the bus. I was tempted to hit you with a beer bottle just to make it stop, honestly" There was a slight edge to her voice, as if she didn't approve of Ayro's sudden abandonment

"Maybe if you knew why I was with her in the first place, then you wouldn't be saying that." He tried to feign his carelessness on the subject, but his voice had turned icy and sharp. His hand was clenched into a fist.

Stop. He said to himself. This isn't worth fighting over.

"
Can we just find that bar now? Please?" He asked. He figured it was pointless to act indifferent now, after that outburst. "You know what they say...Some drink to remember, some drink to forget."

Dance, he chided himself. The lyric is "dance".

Lara looked indifferent, but her eyes said otherwise. "Fine, I don't care. Let's go." She figured she'd make enough enemies within the facility, she might as well try to have SOME allies

Ayros sighed and gave Lara a quick nod as if to say "Thanks". He knew that she still didn't approve of him, but hey, who could blame her? She didn't know the real part that his "girlfriend" played in his survival, and really, how could she?

Besides,
a little voice in the back of his mind started. Whether she knows what you're playing or not, it's still a sick game.

He disregarded this voice as insanity and walked towards the unknown.

"Heads Up!"Rath flung a leather brown square shaped object at Ayros,
Ayros fumbled a little but managed to turn around and catch it in time.
"i borrowed it from a fellow inmate after we had a short conversation"Rath's was very much nonchalant as if this was his daily job.
Ayros slowly opened the wallet and searched through its contents, besides a few small inappropriate pictures he found $120.
"If you find some alcohol, i would like a beer"Rath requested.
he hadn't handed them all of the money of course,he had a little more left on the side he had saved for personal use, maybe green paper works where muscles don't.

They wondered around the facility, but to Lara's dismay, couldn't find a bar anywhere. Her mood was slowly getting more and more unpleasant, when a shady looking guy signaled them. "Psst, I hear you're looking for a bar. We have one, but it's hidden. However, maybe if you to...make it worth my while, I'd be willing to tell you where it is."

Lara handed him Rath's money, and the shady man smiled. "Go to the broom closet by the boy's dormitories. You'll find a set of stairs that lead to it. If anyone asks, you didn't get this from me." And just as suddenly as the strange man came, he left. Lara looked at Ayros. "Well, let's go!"

"What ever you say," Ayros said. They took off towards the dormitories.

"By the way...now that we got money from Rath, can I get my 20 bucks back? Even if it won't get me much, it can get me something, at least." A man had come up to him and Lara before, selling metal pins. Hey, it wasn't much, but a weapon is a weapon.

Ayros nearly jumped out of his skin. "How long have you been following us?" he asked. Maybe his observational skills weren't all they used to be...

  • #94
Lara nodded at Vahn. She knew he had been following them, but didn't mention it because she thought it was obvious. "Sorry Ayros, I just spent Rath's money on the bar info. And since I saved your <censored>, you still owe me that beer. I'll be holding on to it until I have it, thank you very much."

"wow, you seriously dont sugarcoat things, lara." vahn said

  • #96
Lara shrugged. "Sugar coating things wastes everyone's time"

She stopped walking. They had reached their destination

  • #97
"dont take it personally ayros, im just that undetectable. how else do you think i never run out of beer?" vahn said

  • #98
they had reached their destination, as just poined out by lara only a moment ago. it was a metal door standing in their way. all of a sudden, there was a loud sound, and the guards were nowhere to be found...

  • #99
"Glock, 9 millimeter." Ayros would know that sound anywhere. He knew that gun. That was what he used to use...

Ayros rushed in to see a corpse, a pool of blood, and one guy aiming down another. Without thinking, he charged at the guy, and wrestled the gun from him as he'd been taught to do time and time again.

"Go!" he yelled at the kid who stood on the wrong end of the barrel. He was about to shout out, "Run!" but the gunman got a good hit to Ayros's jaw and he fell back, taking gun and kid alike with him.

the loud sound was unnanticipated, and vahn was lucky ayros was able to identify it so easily.
"woah! what in the hell is going on!?" everything hit vahn at once. "who was that...? well, i got a feeling that ain't the last we've seen of that guy..." vahn said.
