does it cycle by itself if so wouldn't that mean it go too fast and i wont be abeal to get any street passes cause i was waiting for hours then i started to get annoyed also my security is wep not sure if that effects anything i hope it doesnt

Router security doesn't change anything, since all the work is done by the Hosted Network and the 3DS. And yes, it cycles by itself. In BASE256, the MAC address change every 2 minutes (normally), while in BASE16, the MAC address changes every 30 minutes.

Also, I hope you haven't tried to configure the 3DS ? And, does the Nintendo Zone viewer outputs an error or a web page ?

Ok, just a list:
-3DS must have all Internet connections disabled, and shouldn't be configured, and should be on HOME Menu (just in case)
-You don't have to modify the router in any way.
-Run nzone.exe with either "start BASE16" or "start BASE256"
-Sometimes, the NZ Viewer may work (happened once here).
-Wait for the HomePass.

Try rebooting your computer and checks if your WLAN card support hosted networks by typing:
"netsh wlan show drivers" in a command prompt. If the line who says "Hosted Networks supported" or something like this says yes, then, retry what I have said.

Put the console in Sleep Mode once the Nintendo Zone flashes.

I did. Waited for 2 minutes nothing there, unfortunately. I will try again

2 minutes is too short. If you're in BASE256, wait at least 30 minutes, so it cycles 15 MAC addresses, while the BASE16 requires 30 minutes between each MAC.
Also, make sure your main Internet connection is shared with the Hosted Network.
(Press Windows + R, type "ncpa.cpl", press Enter. If your main Internet connection has "Shared" below it, then, it's okay)

If you want to do it directly with the router, connect an Ethernet cable, and share it instead of the main WLAN connection. To do it, press Windows + R, type "ncpa.cpl", right-click the Ethernet connection > Properties > Sharing > Click the first box, and choose "Local Area Connection *X" (the hosted network that is created after starting nzone.exe)

Hi, sorry to ask but I'm new to this. I was using the previous method and it worked great, but I don't know how to do this script thing.. can you explain in a little more detail for us rookie types? :)

Well, it's just a script that makes you save time by modifying the MAC address, setting up the connections, and starting the Hosted Network. But, if you're talking about which arguments you can pass to nzone.exe, here you go:

Start - basic argument, needed to start the Hosted Network. You'll also need a base.
BASE16 -> The script will cycle through the 16 Prime MACs (4E-53-50-4F-4F-40 to 4E-53-50-4F-4F-4F). The cooldown between each MAC is 30 minutes
BASE256 -> Cycle through 256 MAC addresses (Prime MACs + Extended MAC Addresses). Might give lower StreetPasses hits when not cycling through a Prime MAC, but the cooldown is 2 minutes.
BASE1 -> Normally, it's just the "@SPOOF" address (or 4E...46 for people who don't know what this means).
Stop -> Stop the Nintendo Zone.

So, you just have to select an argument that fits what you want to do, and, then, you type this in a command prompt (admin) :
"nzone.exe start baseX", where baseX is one of the bases I was talking about earlier.
And if you want to stop, simply type "nzone.exe stop". That's all. There's not a lot to explain about the script, aside from the fact that it removes the pain of having to set up everything.

Let me guess... You have an Atheros card, right ? And what does maccheck.cmd says ?
Correct, I do have an Atheros-based card.

Yes, because I noticed that Atheros cards have the bad tendency of crashing whenever you're toying with MAC addresses, and I don't know how I could even help (Realtek 8188EE Card here). I guess that Google might help you, though.

For some reason, I can't access the two scripts. Does anyone else have it so I can get it too?

Here you go: the nzone.exe and the Mac Check.cmd script.
PS: If you have Avast, I suggest you to disable it while running nzone.exe, as Avast reports a false positive.

Thank you so much. I'll have to try this when I get back home and off of this public wi-fi spot.
