Though I will need some more evidence to state a claim. Peach could've been the last one to touch the shell, also the most common way of killing with a koopa shell is by kicking it. And it was peach's FINGER prints. Also, what if Peach brought Luigi a koopa shell to use and just suicided, or accidentally killed himself?
Also according to this video (backed by scholarly sources):
states that fingerprints can actually not be unique! Making Peach able to be innocent.

well lets think for a moment.don't princesses have special fingerprints?well there's also Princess Daisy,who could of touched it after Princess Peach.and they could have the same fingerprints.i think we need more evidence

Evidence: people use coins to buy stuff (look at a super mario rpg game) and they're small.how would they manage to kill luigi with a coin?as for Bomb-Omb,a bomb-omb usually explodes,so wouldn't there be signs of explosion in the house?
as for the fire flower,if someone used the fire flower,then wouldn't the bed be black/not there?

She screamed, which means she might've witnessed the murder. The fire flower could've been used by the murderer to push the shell. (these are just guesses) She might've denied it by telling the truth. Also Mario saw a figure. That could've been another person, the murderer.

Can Peach tell her side of the story?

Fire balls are not able to push koopa shells. I have a theory that peach had used the fire flower slipped on a koopa shell hiting Luigi and her. Luigi having no fire flower was killed while Peach got minor scratches. But accident or not she has still committed murder.

You're leaving out a key detail, the Shadowy Figure. Also it states that the fire flower was used once. What if Peach was tranquilized by the fire flower, leaving time for the real murderer to hit him with the koopa shell, leaving Peach to pick it up and scream in horror as her boyfriend's brother was killed.

One question I have to ask? Is the shell covered in blood? Or shows a sign of killing someone?

But why Luigi and not Mario. Also why didn't Bowser kidnapped Peach after he killed Luigi. If the shadowy figure was Bowser Mario would be able to tell by his outline

It's partially covered in Weegee blood(which is green), and is slightly cracked, also some people say Luigi's screams can be very high pitched sometimes
