Download or cartridge

One problem I can think of is if the 3DS breaks. That'd mean losing those 20 games, rather than just having to replace the 3DS itself and still having the cartridges to play with (even though in many cases it'd mean starting all over)

Or you could just send it to Nintendo if it breaks.

Cartridge. Like having my physical copy.

cost of fixing may make it not really worth it though, especially if it's out of warranty. It could be better from a price point of view to get a new 3DS (that is, assuming you go for physical cartridges itself and could go for this option)

I doubt the cost of fixing it would be more than a new system.

Ok, and did I ever say there was anything wrong with you having your own opinion?

If you have a Nintendo Network ID, then you can recover them. If you don't know what that is, then update your 3DS.

Nintendo should sell a download code inside a retail box. That way you have something to show for it and no swappin cartridges! Personally, idc where my game is. Ill to for the cheaper version though but I usually choose retail cause Im too lazy to buy Eshop cards and put numbers in and stuff.

Selling a download code inside the retail box would be a waste of money honestly. The box is there to safely package the cartridge and manual in the first place

Yeah, I would just stick with the game card in the package. If someone wants the digital version, they can head straight on over to the eShop.

yeah, the only time a download code inside a retail box makes sense is if it's part of a huge bundle package (for example, the Wind Waker HD Wii U)

Do you think at some point or another, games will be sold only from the internet through virtual stores? I know, on phones, that has already been the case. All of the games and applications are bought on the App Stores, but I guess that is pretty normal. Now the three major leading video game companies have some way of going to a online store to purchase games and such.

Haha but will it lead to extinction of selling games through physical retailer ? I prefer to go to a store and buy a game keeps you excited almost all the time xD

I think that it's a possibility but it won't be happening for a while. There are still collectors out there that prefer the physical copy. Once we reach a point where storage space is near unlimited, THEN it's something that could easily happen

True , physical copies are still the best but best recommended to only download small file games from the eshop not the size of the retailer games as like what @naagza had said limited amount of space. , e.g download donkey kong 3

lmao for people who like the fancy box art and displaying all they games, but don't want to hassle with cartridges. That's what they would be for.

Now I'm ashamed that I keep the boxes of my 3DS games when I sell them. Thanks.

Yeah, both of those are good points. I guess we will just do what we're doing for now and see what the future has in store for us. I personally want to keep the physical copies in the store. It gets people up and out of the house instead of always sitting behind a screen. People need to get out and have some interaction. Can't be locked up with anti-social mentalities.

Yes , Excactly if this group of people do not do so they will not know what is happening in the outside world , buying stuff online isn't that of a good thing too though...

this would be a realy good idea and then you could have 2 towns. for acnl. and for all other games a spare copy or you could give cartridge and keep code. great idea heart.
